--Y The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.-
Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, January 24-, 1950. The meeting
was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry; Tuthill; Albertson and
Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry
and Town Clerk Booth.
The minutes of the previous meeting were, read and duly approved
as read.
The Board audited the Fishers Island Ferry District Bills.
Moved by Jus�ice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That Fishers Island Ferry District Bills Account #2
in the amount of -$5,21 5.76, be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice -Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
Resolved: That the regular monthly azdit meeting of this Board .be
held at the office of the Supervisor on Friday, Feb. 10, 19509
at 1:30 P.M.
Unanimously adopted. .
Lawyer Kingsley Smith appeared before the Board representing
Charles Simon, requesting that the stumps and debris be removed
from the side of Wells Road, Peconic, abutting his property, so
that he could have access to the road with his truck & tractor.
The Board stated they would consider the matter after viewing
> > said road.
Mr. Bennett, District Manager of the Royal Indenmity Company ap-
peared before the Board to explain in detail the method of Town
Insurance . He suggested that .all Town Insurance be assigned to
-' one office with premiums apportioned among agents throughout
the Town. The matter was laid on the table.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
y Whereas,. Section 86 of the Social Welfare Law permite the Super-.
visor to pay over to the Town Welfare Officer money to be used as'
a revolving fund from which the Welfare Officer shall pay all
- �. welfare claims for which the Town is legally responsible, except-
ing salaries and other pompensktion, and,
Whereas, In the opinion of the Welfare Officer the sum of Three
-� Thousand Dollars now set aside for such revolving fund seems
w, insufficient, and
Whereas, In the opinion of the Welfare Officer such revolving
fund shall be increased to the sum. of Four Thousand Dollars,
now Therefore Be It Resolved: That the -revolving fund of the
Town Idelfare Officer be and hereby is increased from the sum of
� ► Three Thousand to the sum of Four Thousand Dollars.

Resolved: That the shale of wages for the employees of the
' Town Highway Department which was presented to the Town Board by
- � Supt. of Highways Price be and the same is hereby approved.
Unanimously adopted.

Resolved: . That the Town Board does hereby approve the letter of
agreement between the Fishers Island Ferry District and E.S. Wilcox
in- the operation of the vessel . John E. Baxter in the sum of $4,281. 50,
from Dec. 1 to Dec. 31, 1949, both dates inclusive.
Unanimously adopted.
The hearing on the matter of purchasing machinery for the Town
Highway Dept. which was advertised in accordance with Sec. 142
of the Highway haw was duly opened at 2 o 'clock P.M. no person.

the legal notice, the hearing. was closed at 2:30 P.M.

pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 142 of the Highway Law, and a.
notice of such recommendation has been duly published as provided
in such •section'
Nbw Therefore "Be It 'Resolved that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby author-
ized .to' purchase from'H.O." Penn Machinery Co. with the approval
of the County Supt. of Highways? one Tarco Chemical (Sco_tchman).; ' .
Spreader for a total price of six hundred and five dollars ($605.00.) -a -
delivered at Peconic, and to be delivered on or about. Feb. 1, 1950.
Unanimously adopted.

Whereas, the Town Superintendent of Highways did on the. 24 day
of January, 1950, duly recommend the purchase of certain machinery . � -
pursuant to the provisions of Section 142 of the Highway Law,
and a notice of such recommendation has been duly publi.shed as -
provided in such section.
Now, Therefore, B,e It Resolved that pursuant to Section 142 -,�
of the Highway Law the -Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby
authorized to purchase from Park and Golf Supply Co. ,. Inc. with {=
the approval of,' the County Superintendent of Highways: One Arious
Tractor Mower,'/'for a total price of seven hundred and fifty dollars
($750.00) del vered at. Peconic, and to be delivered on 'or about
Feb. 19 1950.�

Whereas, the Town. Superintendent of Highways did on the 24 day of.
January, 1950, duly recommend the purchase of certain machinery * -
pursuant to the provisions of Section 142 -of the Highway Law, and a
notice of suchrecommendation has been duly published as provided in
such section.Now Therefore Be It Resolved that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby author-
ized to purchase from Charles Glover, **th the approval of the
County Superintendent of Highways: One second-hand Dodge
Suburban Automobile for a total price of one thousand dollars
($19-000.00) delivered at Peconic, and to be delivered on or about
Feb. 1, 1950.
Unanimously adopted.
