MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 11, 1951 1
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Klipp at Greenport, on Tmes. , Sept. 11, 1951. The meeting was called
to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp;
Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town Superintendent
of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once at a committee on audit to examine claims against
the Town concluding the audit work at 2 P.M.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and were duly approved
as read.
Moved by Justice-Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: - -°
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this board be held
at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tues. , Sept.25,1951,
at 1:30 P.M.
Unanimously adopted. T
A communication was read from Edwin H. King stating that the poor --4
condition of the cement road on Village Lane Orient had been called
to his attention several times. He inquired if the road could be
resurfaced. Superintendent of Highways Price stated that it would -
be too expensive to resurface the road with premix, but it could
be done satisfactorily with grit.
A letter addressed to Chief of Police Anrig from H. Robinson Shipherd
was read,commending the Police Force on their skill in discovering
the Juv&vile delinquents at the high school recently,and the prac-
tical good sense and wisdom in the way the matter was handled.
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the sum of $1697. 56..i_:Lighting
District Bills in the sum of $1241.76. Fishers Island Ferry District
Bills Account ##1 in the sum of $726.76. Fishers Island Ferry Dis-
trict Bills Account ##2 in the sum of $8075.20. be and the same is
ffereby ordered paid.

Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That inasmmch as the required dedications have been duly
received, map of same duly filed and the necessary papers signed,
the Town Board take over and maintain as public highways SHORT ROAD,
BAY ROAD, MEADOW LANE, and CASE ROAD, situated at Cutchogue, in
the Town of Southold, New York. �.
Unanimously adopted.
The Board viewed a proposed highway at Orient, property of James
F. Douglass.
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: 7 _�
RESOLVED: That the Town Board will accept the proposed highway when
a strip 30 feet in width is plowed and harrowed and put in a suitable
condition.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry- Tow of
RESOLVED: That the street lighting contract between the nSohold and
the Village of Greenport, covering the West Greenport Lighting Dis-
trict for a period of 5 years and expire on August 31st, 1956 be
and :th'6,2same is hereby approved by the Town Board.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of August be accepted
by the Town Board and placed on file.
Unanimously adopted.

As was requested by Mrs. Caroline Korn the Board viewed her property
regarding the erosion that had taken place on the west side of Oak
Lawn Ave. Superintendent of Highways Price stated he would fill in ,
grade and sow grass seed on the shoulder of said road which borders
on herpproperty. Mrs. Korn was in agreement with such a plan.
