Meeting of December 11, 1951
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
at Greenport, on Tues . , Dec. ll , 1951. the meeting was called to order
at 1:30 P.M. with the following present-:I Supervisor Klipp; Justices
Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark;° Town Superintendent of Highways
Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a commiktee on audit to examine claims against
the Tpwn concluding the audit work at 2::1 5 P.M.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and were--duly approved
as read.
Moved by Justice; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED:: That the annual audit meeting of this Board be held at the
office of the Supervisor ,at Greenport, on Monday, December 31, 1951,
'^ at 1:30 P.M.
Unanimously adopted.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That all Town Officials that desire to attend the annual meet-
ing of the Association of Towns of the State of New York, to be held
a Buffalo , New York on February 6,7 and 8th, be and hereby are author-
ized to attend, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending this
annual meeting be and hereby are a legal charge against the Town.

RESOLVED: That effective as of January 1, 1952, Marion A. Winters ,
Junior Clerk, be and hereby is employed on a permanent basis , and be
it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for such services , effective as of
January 1, 1952, be fixed at Two Thousand Dollars ($$2,000.00) per
year, payable in regular monthly installments .

` RESOLVED: That Bond No. 2433285 issued by the Fidelity and Casualty
,, . Company of New Yor$, in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($$1 ,000.00)
on behalf of Harry H. Terry, be and the same is hereby approved as to
its form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein.
Four votes in the affirmative -Justice .Terry not voting.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. SM-176,462, issued by the American Motorist
Insurance Company in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1 ,000.00)
on behalf of Lester M. .Albertson, be and the same is hereby approved
as to its form, sum,, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein.
Four votes in the affirmative- Justice Albertson not voting.

- � RESOLVED: That Bond No. 05-511-140, issued by the American Surety
Company, in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($,51,000.00) on behalf
of Ralph P. Booth, be and the same is hereby approved as to its form,
sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of November be accepted
by the Town Board and placed on file.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the sum of $4808.02, Lighting District
Bills in the sum of $1303 .14, Town Trustees Account in the sum of $15.00,
Fishers Island Ferry District Bills Account No .l in -the sum of $206,00, _
Fishers Island Ferry District Bills Account No . 2 in the sum .of $6224.24,
be and the same are hereby ordered paid,

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves of the action of the
Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District .in entering into
License Contract No. DA-19-016-ENG-1374 with the Department of the
Army for a period of one year, beginning October 1 , . 1951, and ending
. September 30, 1952, for the non-exclusive use of the following described
remises for berthing and wharfs e ur oses : -

A certain parcel of land, together with the Government owned dock,
warehouse building and all other appurtenances thereto located at the f..
foot of John Street, New London, Connecticut, as shown outlined in -'
red on Exhibit A Plan entitled Government Dock, New London, attached .,._
and made part of the License Contract, and, the License in consider-
ation for. this license, shall pay to the United States Compensation
in the amount .of One Dollar($1.00) for the said term, payable in advance. 1 -

RESOLVED:- That the Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to request the
Long Island Lighting Company to install two additional aerial street lii
lights in the Southold Lighting District, one (1) 100cc-p 'lights on
a four foot arm to be placed on pole No. 782 at the intersection of
Town Harbor Lane and the Main Read, One (1) 250 c p Light on a four
foot arm to be placed on pole No. 389 on the Main Road in front of �
Albertsons Store .
Unanimously adopted.

The hearing .on the matter of purchasing machinery for the Town Hi h-
gray Department, which was advertised in accordance -with Section 10 of
the Highway Law, was duly opened at 3 o 'clock P.M. No person appeared
before the Board to speak either for or against the item mentioned in
the legal notice .The hearing was duly closed at
3:34 P.M.

WHEREAS the, Town Superintendent of Highways did on the llth day of
December, 19519' duly recommend the purchase of certain (Machinery) �-
Pursuant to the provisions - of Section 142 of the Highway Law, and Y
a notice of ,such recommendation has been duly published as provided
in such section.
Now Therefore Be It Resolved that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town g!uperintendent of Highways: i.s hereby authorized to Y r
purchase from Hodge &"Hammond, Inc, with the approval of the County �
Superintendent of Highways.-
,One Huber Maintainer with front end lift-loader
for a total price of Four Thousand Two Hundred Fifty, & 00//100 Dollars,
($49250.00) 9 delivered at Peconic, L.I . , N.Y. ,and to be delivered on *r,_
or about Dec. 15th, 1951.
A contract of purchase for the item purchased shall be duly executed ^�
between the Town Superintendent of Highways and such vender, and when
duly approved by the County Superintendent of Highways:, it shall become
effective. When such contract has been duly executed and approved, the
,Supervisor is authorized to complete such purchase upon delivery of. the
item purchased in accordance with the terms of such resolution and such
contracts and to pay the above amount specified to be paid byacheck.drawn a .' t
on the Machinery Fund (Item 3) for S4,1250.00.
