HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-11/08/1951 Meeting of Nov. 89 1951 The Southold down Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenpott., on Thursday, Nov. 8, 1951. The meeting was called to order at 1::30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices lerry,, Tuthill, Hlbertson and Clark; Town Attorney _ Terry and Town Clerk Booth. ` The Board sat at once as a committee on�Audit':to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 2 P.M. - -- The minutes of the previous meeting were read and were duly approved as read. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: Resolved:- That the regular monthly meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tue,s. , Nov. 20,1951, -� at 1:30 P.M. Unanimously adopted. • �� The Public nearing on the budget was formally opened by the Super- visor at 2:00 O 'clock P.M. in accordance with the notice published in the newspapers of the town as required by law. The Supervisor read the call of the Hearing and as there were no interested persons having appeared before the Board to speak either for or against any of the items in the proposed budget, the hearing was formally closed at 3 P.M. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Albertson:, Budget for 1951-52 WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold has met at the time and place spedified in the notice of public hearing on the prelim- inary budget and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon; now, therefore , be it RESOLVED: That the Down Board of the Down of Southold does hereby adopt such preliminary budget as originally compiled, as the annual budget of this down for the fiscal year beginning on the _ lst day of January, 1952, and that such budget as so adopted be entered in detail in the minutes of the proceedings of this Town -� Board, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall prepare and certify, in duplicate, copies of said annual budget as adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Southold, together with the estimates , if any, adopted pursuant to Section 202-a, subd. 2, of the Town Law and deliver one copy thereof to the supervisor of this Town to be presented by him to the Board of Supervisors r the County of Suffolk. jr. = ANNUAL_.' Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be authorized to transfer 6 Seven Thousand Five Hundred. Dollars ($7, 500.00) from Fishers ,Island Ferry District Account #R to Fishers Island Ferry District Account #1; this amount partially replaces monies previously transferred for Account ##1 to Account ##2. Unanimously adopted. ,. ; Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Irving M. Rogers of Greenport; Elmer K. Quarty of ,tea Southoldi; Chester Melot of Mattituck and Donald S. Edwards of Fishers island be and hereby are appointed Dog Enumerators for the Town of Southold for the year 1952. -�.
