HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-10/30/1951 MEETING OF OCTOBER 3011951 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Norman E Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, Oct. 301 1951. The meeting was called to _ order at 1;30 P.I"I. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and were duly approved as read. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Albertson: -r RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Thursday. Unanimously adopted. ( Nov. 8, 1951, at 1:30 P.M. ) Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: By the Town Board of the Town of Southold, that Ralph P. Booth, Town Clerk be, and hereby' is , authorized to dispose of record items numbers 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-, on Records Disposition Request List Number 1 dated October, 1951 , issued pursuant to section 114 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, q , and be it further RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Board be , and hereby is , directed to furnish a certified copy of this Resolution to be forwarded to the Commissioner of Education. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Zustice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That as the necessary requirements having been met, dedications duly received, map of same duly filed and the necessary papers signed, the Town Board take over and maintain as public highways Douglass Street and Harbor Road, situated at Orient, Town of Southold, N.Y. Unanimously adopted. A communication was received from Henry Williams, Principal of Southold High School, stating that the street lights in front of the school were inadequate. Also Justice Albertson requested .a change in the street light on Main Road. Moveddby Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill,',. R SOLVED: that the Town Clerk b.e- aimd hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove the 100 c p street light on pole No . 3 and pole No. 6 and replace with 600 c p street lights , 'on Oak Lawn Avenue, in the Southold Lighting Dis- trict. Also remove one 100 c p street light on pole No. 388 on the Main Road and erect one 250 c p street light on Pole No. 775 at the corner of Main Road and Cottage Place in the Southold A � Lighting District. Unanimously adopted. ' Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the , Fishers Island Ferry istrict Commissioners in signing supplement- ary agreement No. 1, lic6nse Contract No. BA30-075-ENG-1569 between the Fishers Island Ferry District and the Corps of Engineers , U. S. .Army, for the rights to the non-exclusive use of } Silver Eel Cove Lock, together with buildings No. 248,29,and the north wing of building No. 1, located at Fort H. G. Wright, Fishers fsland, New York, and including certain access roads , for - an extended period of one year up to and including September 30, 1952, and be further RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he hereby is authorized to sign the above mentioned supplementary agreement in behalf of the Town of gouthold, Suffolk County, New York. � Unanimously adopted. _r T r .A.. Klipp be authorized to transfer Two Thousand Dollars ($21000.00) from Fishers island Ferry district Account #2 to Fishers Island Ferry District Account #i. This amount partially replaces monies previously transferred from Account #1 To -Account #2. i Unanimously adopted. At 2 P.M. O 'clock in accordance with a notice published according to law, bids were opened for proposals to paint the outsidd of - � the Town Building located on the north side of Main Road in Southold. --- Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the bid of George Vloutely for the painting of the Town Bmilding on the north side of Main Road, Southold, be laid on the table for further consideration.
