�} Klipp at Greenport, on Tues. , June 5, 1951. The meeting was called
to order at 1:30 P.M. .with the following present: Supervisor
K1ippiJustices Terry, Tuthill and Albertson; Town Superintendent
r, of Highways Priceaq,{ Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
-�' The Board sat. at once as a committee on audit to examine claims
against the Town, concluding the audit, .work at 2 P.M.
The •minutes of the previous meeting were read and were duly appbpved
as read.
-- Moved .by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry:
Resolved: That the regular monthly .meeting .of the Board be held
at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tues. , Junel9,
1951, at 1:30 P.M.
Unanimously adopted.

=. ;�. Whereas, There exists a vacancy in the office of the Justice of the
Peace of Fishers Island,New York, caused by the death .of Radford C.
Shanklin, and
-�Y Whereas, It became necessary to appoint some person to fill such. -
vacancy, therefore, be it
7 Resolved;, That E. Perry Edwards be. and hereby is appointed to hold
.�. the office of Justice of the Peace of Fishers Island, Nev York,until
the next annual election at which the vacancy may be filled in
accordance with Section 64, Subdivision 5 of the Town Law, and that
the Town Clerk be instructed to notify the proper parties of such
appointment in accordance with Section 309' Subdivision 4 of the
Town Law, and be it further
a; Resolved: That the compensation for said appointee be fixed at
Twelve Hundred Dollars ($1200.00) per year, payable in regular
monthly payments, and be it further

I , Ralph P. Booth, Town Clerk of the Town of Southold, Suffolk
County, New York, do hereby appoint E. Perry Edwards as Deputy
�- Town Clerk for Fishers Island, Town of Southold, New York, pur-
'� suarrt to the provisions of Section 30 of the Town Law, as amended.
This appointment is effk'ative as of June 161 1951, and expires
on .December 31-9 1951.

'Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve ,the appointment
of E. Perry Edwards as Deputy Town Clerk for Fishers Island, Town
of Southold, New York_ .

of Southold, New York, subject".to the approval of the State

Resolved: That the Town Board does hereby approve the appointment
of E. Perry Edwards as Subregistrar of Vital Statistics for Fishers
Island, Town of Southold, New York.

Moved by Justice terry; Seconded by Justice Albertson:
Resolved: That inasmuch as the required dedications have been re-
ceived, map of •same duly filed and the necessary papers signed, the
Town Board take over and maintain as public highways Wood Lane;
Inlet Lane-and Bay Road; situated near Greenport, in -the Town of
Southold, kew fork.
Unanimously adopted.
-> A communication was read from the Mattituck Fire Department re-
questing permission of the Town Board to use Sound Avenue between
Love Lane and Pacific Street as a tournament track, to be used
-, for the forth Fork Volunteer giremens Tournament- to be held at
Mattituck on July 41 1951, that portion of said Avenue to be used
from 12 noon to about 5 P.M.

Aesolved: That permission be granted the Mattituck Fire Department --�
to close to normal traffic .a portion of Sound knenue, between Love
Lane and Pacific Street, In the Village of Mattituck between the
hours of 12 noon and about 5 P.M. to be used by the North Fork Volun- -10,
teer Firemans Association for a .Tournament on July 4, 1951, pro-
viding the Town of Southold be indemnified and saved harmless from
any and all claims arising out of or by reason of the same and that �•�
the 'Town be furnished with an: insurance policy of. indemnification .

Resolved: That General Bills in the sum of $1171.73 , Lighting Bills ems_
in the sum of $1229.72 Fishers Island Ferry District Bills Account
#1 in the sum of $4753 5, Fishers island Ferry District Bills
Account #2 in the sum of $6715.77, be and the same are hereby
ordered paid. y-

Acknowledgements of messages of sympathy to the families of ' -
Ren'sselaer G. Terry and Radford C. Shanklin, have been received,
read and placed on file.
