Meeting of November' 21, 1947 ' The Southold Town Board met at the. office 'of Supervisor-S. Went= Horton,. at Greenp©rt, on Firday, November 21, 1947. The, meeting•. ,was called to order at 1:30 'P.M. with the following present: Supervi•sor .Horton; Justice,s,� Terry, Hawkins, Klipp and Tuthill, and Town ,Clerk Booth. -� , The minutes of the.' previous meeting were read and- duly approved as read. The Board audited General' Bills in the amount of $242.00,. postage stamps 'for Receiver of., Taxes. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Tuthill: Resolved: That General Bills in the. amount of,.$242.00 be and the same is hereby ordered paid: �a Unanimously adopted. -'y Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Klipp: � . Resolved: That Irving,'.M. Rogers of East Marion, Philip W. Tuthill, of Mattituck and Clarence E. Edwards JrFishers Island, be and hereby are appointed dog ennumerators for the Town of Southold for the year 1948. ' ORDER ESTABLISHING DISTRICT A petition in this matter for the establishment of Fisher's Island Ferry District having been duly presented to the Town Board, to- gether with the necessary map attached thereto and an Order having been duly adopted by the Towri'Board on Sept. 2� j 1947, for the hearing of all persons . in'terested in the matter on the 16th day of October,,, i947, at one o'clock 'in the afternoon at Fishers Island, and shearing . ,y by the said Board having been duly had at such time and place,, and it having been, duly resolved and determined following such hearing that the petition here" was' signed and acknowledged or .proved as required by law and otherwii� e. sufficient, that all the property and property owners within.,the' proposed district, were. benefited thereby, that all property and property owners benefited were included within the limits of the proposed district, and that it was in public interest to grant in whole ,the relief sought,, and it having been then and- there further -~� duly re,pblved that the est'ablishment'of- such district• as proposed be y approved, and application having - been thereafter and on October 179 1947 duly made in -duplicate to the State, Department of Audit and Control at Albany, New York, for permission to establish such district as'more fully provided by Chapter 699 of• the laws of New York, 1947 and . _a Section 194 of the Town. Law, and the' State Comptroller having -duly made an order in duplicate, dated Nov 17, 1947, granting permission for the establishment of, the district_ in all' respects. as ,petitioned for and approved by the Town Board as aforesaid; and one copy of such order having been duly filed :.in the office, of 'the State Department. of Audit and Control at Albany, New York,• and, .the other -in .the -office of the Town Clerk 'of this. Went- worth Horton, at Greenport, on Wednesday, December ,3, 1947. The => meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present; Supervisor Horton; Justices Terry, Hawkins, Klipp and Tuthill; Town Superintendent of Highways,Price and Town Clerk, Booth. The Board sat at once as a Committee on Audit to -examine claims against the Town, concluding the Audit at 2;10 P.M. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and were duly approved as read. Moved by Justice Hawkins; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $3,843.37, Non-re- imbursable Welfare Bills in the amount of $11.60 .be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. The Bond ,for the .Supervisor _in the amount of $60,000. .written by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Co . was presented to the Town Board. Smith, in Southold and `of George H. Wells Estate in P.econic. The Board will take over these roads and work as public highways as soon ••. as certain requirements are met.
