The meeting was called to order at L;30 P.M. with the following present : Supervisor Horton; -r ' Justices Terry, Hawlfins , Klipp and Tuthill ; down Superintendent of Highways. Price ; Town Attorney Terry and `i'own 'Clerk, Booth. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as . read. = Halsey' Brown appeared before the Board to ascertain if the -Board intended to• take. over the read which they vie,�ied on Sept. 4th, 1947 . He also proposed that the Board purchase a strip of beach which is " on the property of Edna Brown west of the Toner property at �. > Greenport. No action was taken as the Board wiehed to give the matter further consideration. -, , Stanley S. Corwin, Esq. , representing Mr. George Douglass , ap- peared before the Boord protesting against the encroachment made, by the Town on Mr. George Douglass ' property at the foot of King Street -. in Orient, in laying a drain pipe by the highway department. hr.. Price , Town Superintendent of Highways , assured him that the pipe r would be taken care of and that a drain would be placed on the 'beach. A letter was read from George C. Terry, Esq. , tending his resign- ation as Town Attorney, for the Town. of Southold, to become ef- fective October 1, 1947. Moved by Justice Hawkins ; seconded by Justice Tuthill;, Resolved: That the resignation of George G. Terry, Esq. , as Town Attorney,, for the Town of .Southold, be accepted with sincere regrets. -a Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice merry; seconded by Justice Tuthill : Resolved : That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board and the preliminary budget meeting be held at the office of the Supervisor on Friday, October 10m 1947 , at 1 :30 P.M. Unanimously adopted. ' A special meeting was called for Sept. 26, 1947 , at 1:30 P.M. for the -+y purpose of further consideration of the Fishers Island Ferry District.
