The meet- ing was called to order at 1:30 P.M. :•:ith the following present: Supervisor Horton; Justices Terry; Hawkins; Klipp and Tuthill; ._ Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The mi4utes of the previous meeting were read, and duly approved as read. Justice Tuthill was appointed a committee of one to look over the _ town property at Laurel Lake and report at the next meeting the possibilities of improving the grounds , and to erect fireplaces and tables for public use. ._ Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Klipp: Whereas, ,.the taking of gravel and sand from the LongMl'sland Sound _ beach at Fast Marion, N.Y. on the property of George. Tisdale is considered against public interest. Therefore Be It Resolved: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to communicate with George M. Tisdale to the effect that r- sand and gravel be not taken from this beach. If the request is not complied with it will be the duty of this Board to take some ~ ' action, and a copy of this letter be forwarded to Frank Salerno , � - the operator. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Hawkins: , Resolved: That Stelle R. Manning of Orient be and hereby is ap'- pointed a Special Constable to direct traffic at the Orient �- School crossing at a salary of $4.00 per day, retroactive to April 1`,, 1947. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Hawkins; seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board will be held at the office of the Supervisor, on Tuesday, May 69 1947, at 1:30 P.M.
