The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Super- ; �. visor Horton; Justices Terry, Hawkinfs,KLipp, and Tuthill Town Super- intendent ' of .Highways, Price, Town �?ttorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee of audit to examine claims . against the Town, concluding the audit at 2;15 P.M. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read. Moved by Justice Hawkins, seconded by Justice Klipp; Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $49240.44; Non-re- imbursable Welfare Bills in the amount of $219.06 be and the same are -� '- hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. ,y Moved by Justice Hawkins, seconded by Justice Klipp: i Resolved: "hat Justice Harry Terry be designated to represent the Town of Southold at the annual meeting of the Association of Towns --� to be held at Albany on February 19, 20 21, 1947, and to cast the vote of the aforesaid Town and that Justice Ralph W. Tuthill be designated as alternate to cast the vote of said Town in the absence of Justice Terry. J Unanimously adopted. The Town Clerk was instructed to .communicate with the Greenport Auto Sales and request a memo of what Ford Two-door sedans will cost at the present time with large generators installed. A letter was read from Charles Offenheiser, complaining about the existing dump on Jonathan Overton's property at the intersection of Horton's Land and Sound- View Ave. The Town Clerk was instructed _ y to write Mr. Overton as follows: - { "Numerous complaints have been received in relation to dumping of garbage on your property on the Sound View Road., The law has recently been amended, giving the Town Board greater power in the matter of dumping. At a recent meeting of the Town Board, Mr. Price stated that conditions there had somewhat improved. It was the con- sensus of opinion that if you would cooperate with the Town in thes matter, the situation could be remedied and I was instructed to write you to that effect. Mr. Price and the Board will be glad to render you any assistance possible to see that outsiders do,-'no further dump- ing on your property or on the road adjacent thereto. Moved by Justice Terry, seconded by Justice Hawkins: Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Boaxd. be held on Friday, January 17, 1947, at 1:30 P.M. Un animously adopted.
