Meeting of September 17 , 1946
The Southold frown Board met at the office of Supervisor S.
Wentworth Horton at Greenport , on 'Tuesday, September 17 ,
1946. The meeting was called to: order` at 1 :30 P.M. TTiith.
the following present : Supervisor Horton; Justice Terry,
Hawkins and Klipp ; Town Superintendent of Highways Price ;
Town Attorney Terry• and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine
claims against the Tovvn, concluding the audit at 2 P.M.
The minutes of the previous meetings were rea.d 'and duly ap-
proved as read . *�
Moved by Justice Hawkins , seconded by Justice_-Terry :
Resolved : That' General Bills in the amount of $2,247.69; _
Reimbursable 'Yelfare Bills in the amount of° $47.25 and Non-
reimbursable 'Nelfare Bills. in the amount of $22.74 be and the
same is hereby ordered paid.

Whereas , God in His Providence has taken from our midst the
spirit of William B. Reeve. ,
Whereas , William B. Reeve served the Town of Southold as a
Justice of 'the Peace faithfully and efficiently for a period N,-�►
of many years. ' A.THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board deeply � .
mourns the los's of this. friend and associate and extends its
profound sympathy to his bereaved family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he 'is here-
by directed to spread this Resolution upon the minutes of this
meeting, and he is further directed to send a copy thereof to
members of his immediate family.
Unanimously adopted.
Street lighting contracts between the Southold Town Board and the
Long Island Li..ghting Co. were signed by the Town Board as follows : `
East Marion to expire Aug. 31, 1951. Peconic to Expire July 1,
1951.

Resolved : That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board be
held on Friday, Sept. 27, 1946. This meeting was later pos-
poned until Tues . Oct 83 1946,

Resolved : that as the required papers have been duly received -•
by the 'own Board and the map has been duly filed, the Town Board
take over and maintain the road known as Parkers Landing in the
Village of Pec onie. T

Resolved : That General Bills, in the amount of $2,030.44, Re-
imbursable Welfare Bills in the amount of $22.58, Non-reimbursable
Welfare Bills in the amount of $21.04 be and the same is hereby --f -
ordered, paid.

Resolved: .That the Town Board dyes hereby prepare and approve
as the preliminary budget of this Town for the fiscal year yr-
beginning on the lst day of January, 1:947 .uthe itemized statement
of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made
a part of this resolution, and -T
Be It Further Resolved, that, this Board squall meet at 2 o •clokk
P.M. on the 7th day of November, 1946, for the purpose of holding
a public hearing in the manner provided in Section 113 of the r.�f
Town Law.'

Resolved: That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board be
held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1946, at 1130 P.M.
Unanimously adopted.

' Addition to meeting of Sept . 17 , 1946.
Moved by Justice Terry, seconded by Justice Hawkins ;
Whereas , Under Section 86, Paragraph 2, of the Social Welfare Law of
the State of New York, payments of reimbursable home relief may be
made by the 'Town Welfare Officer from. a revolving fund, set up by .the
Town Board: •�
Be It Resolved: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold,. New York,
establish a revolving fund of $2,000. in the Bank of Southold, New.
York, out of which fund, the Welfare Officer shall pay cash grants '
of reimbursable home relief to recipients of home relief, and ap-
proved reimbursable claims of suppliers for services and/or mat-
erials furnished to- home relief recipients, on authorization of t 4.
the Welfare Officer.
Be It ,Further. Revolved : That such revolving *fund be made available to
the said Welfare Officer on Jan. 1., 1947. -�
Be It Further Resolved : That the said Welfare Officer of said Town
of Southold , New York, furnish an approved bond of $2,000. ,to the
Town Board of the said Town of Southold, New York, for the proper
performance of his duties : and 4
Be It further Resolved : That the cost of said bond be a proper
charge against the said Town of Southold, New York.
