HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-04/02/1946 39 _y Meeting of March 20, 194-6 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor S. ri'Jentworth Horton at Greenport , on Wednesday, March 20, 1946. The meeting was called to order at 1 :30 P.M. with the following present : �r Supervisor Horton, Justice Terry, Hawkins and Klipp ; Town Superin- tendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry; and Town Clerk Booth. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read. Moved by Justice Hawkins , seconded by Justice Terry; Resolved : That the necessary papers having been signed the Town Board accept the strip of land at Mattituck, N.Y. which the Long Island Produce and Fertilizer Co. dedicates to the Town of Southold for the purpose of a highway. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Hawkins ; Resolved: That the monthly audit meeting of.' the Town Board be held on Tuesday, April 2 , 1946, at 1 :30 P.M. Wentworth Horton at Greenport , on Tuesday, April 2 , 1946. The meeting was called to order at 1 :30 P.M. with the following present; Supervisor Horton; Justices Terry, Hawkins and Klipp; Town Superintendent of y Highways Price ; Town Attorney Terry, and Town Clerk Boo:t.h. Moved by Justice Klipp; seconded by Justice Terry; Resolved : That a public hearing will be held in the Village Hall at Greenport on Monday April 22, 1946, at 8 P.M. for. the purpose of con- sidering contracting with the Village of Greenport for fire protection to be furnished by said Village to the East-West Fire Protection District. -' Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Klipp , seconded by Justice Hawkins ; Resolved : That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized to pur- chase from the Greenport Auto Sales one Hord two-door sedan at the lowest price obtainable. > BE It Further Resolved : That the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized to purchase from the Cutchogue Auto Sales one Fordtwo-door sedan at the lowest price obtainable , these cars are to be used for Police patrol iiuty. Moved by Justice Hawkins ,, seconded by Justice Klipp; Resolved : That each Police car be equipped with Police' Radios , same type as are being used throughout the County in the Sheriff's { and Town Police autos , so that these cars. may be in constant contact with police network of Suffolk County. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry, seconded by Justice -Klipp ; Resolved : That the Supervisor be empowered to make arrangem.nt•s to obtain fresh water at the Southold Town Beach. Unanimously adopted. Justice Klipp was appointed a committee of one to arrange to have the four fireplaces which were destroyed by the hurricane replaced at the Town Beach. Moved by Justice Klipp, seconded by J,,stice Terry; Resolved: That the salauies of aon6tables Cheif Sotto L. Anrig, Antone r` Chituk, James P. Kelly,', George G. Wetmore and Henry Y. King be set a at $60,00 per day and Constable John Muir,. .Desk Night Man at Town Police Office be set at $5.00 per day to take effect as of April `•-` 1st, 1946. Unanimously adopted. The Town Board sat as a Committee on audit to examine claims against 40 the Town. Moved by Justice Hawkins , seconded by Justice Terry; Resolved : That General Bills in the amount of $1,,605.32, Reimbura- able TVelfare bills in the amount of $4.00 and Non-reimbursable +� Welfare Bills in the amount of $22.03 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Unanimously adopted. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read.
