Meeting of February 18, 1946
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor S.
Wentworth Horton at Greenport, on Monday) February 18, 1946. The
> meeting was called to order at 1 :30 P.M. with the following
present : Supervisor Horton; Justices `ferry, Hawkins and Case ;
Town Superintendent of Highways Price ; TOM Attorgey Terry and
Town Clerk Booth.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as
read.
The bond for Justice of the Peace Radford C. Shanklin for $1,000.
was presented to the Board.

Moved by Justice Hawkins, seconded b Justice Case :
RESOLVED: That the Town Board approve the bond of Justice Radford
G. Shanklin written by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty
Go. as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of
secur.ety.

Matters of interest to the town were discussed at considerable
length.
Moved by Justice Hawkins, seconded by Justice Case :
* RESOLVED: That regular monthly audit meeting of the Town
Board be held_:on Wednesday March 6 , 1946, at 1 :30 P.M.

The meeting was postponed until March 8, 1946 at 1 :30 P.M.

~, Dr... Paul Diefenbacher was elected chairman of meeting.
'- Dr. S.B. Fisher was unanimously elected member of Park Commission
for a term of three years..
An appropriation of $2500rfor the maintenance' of the Park Dis-
trio properties. was, voted. Total votes cast 7 yes.
A Suggestion that the commission bar the use of liquor at the wharf
premises was made by Dr. Diefenbacher.

�. The matter of acquiring the use of the M.T. Smith Estate property
either by contract of purchase was brought up for-discussion.
