The Southold Town Board rp t at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
at Greenport, on Tuesday, May 13, 1952. The meeting was called to order
Y at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices
r' Terry, Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the two previous meetings were read and
4� were duly approved as read.

Moved by tustice Clark; seconded by Justice Terry:
RESOLVED:That a regular meeting of the Southold Town Board will be
held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tuesday,
May 27, 1952, at 1:30 o'clock P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill
and Clark.

„r WHEREAS, for a period of several years the passenger service furn-
ished by the Long island Railroad to the Town of Southold and the
County of Suffolk has been curtailed to a great extent, and
WHEREAS , the Town Board of the Tvwn: of Southold has reason to be-
lieve that further curtailment .and possible discontinuance of trains
between Greenport. and Riverhead which may be substituted by bus ser-
vice, and
WHEREAS, 'if such action is taken, it is felt that it would be most
detrimental to the residents of this Township, and to the County,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board strongly opposes any
further curtailment of passenger services by the Long Island Railroad
Company in this Township and, particularly, any attempts to substitute
i ,. such train service with bus service, and be it further
RESOLVED, that if the Long Island Railroad Company intends in the
future to take any such action that they be requested to furnish this
Board copies of any information relative to such action,• and that
7_. this Board be given this opportunity to confer with- the Railroad
Company before any action is taken and intthe event that the Railroad
a Company makes any applications to the -Public Serviee Commission of
the State of Naw York or any Court or any regulatory body for per-
mission to take such action, this Board be given written advanced
notice thereof ' so that•. it may oppose such application in such manner
as it deems proper, and be- it further
RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be sent the Public Service
any Commission, Mr. .Wyer as operating trustee of the Long Island Railroad,

District of New York, and `The Long Island Transit Authority.

RESOLVED: That Morman E1 Klipp, Supervisor, be and hereby is author-
ized to transfer from the Town Incinerator Operation Account to
r the General Account the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3 ,000.00) ,
K said amount to be used for -general town purposes.

RESOLVED: That '"orman E. Klipp, Supervisor, be and hereby is author-
ized to transfer from the Surplus Account to the General Account the
sum of Two Thousand Twenty-six Dollars and Seventy-eight cents
(62,026.78) , said amount to be used for general town purposes.

Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp, Supervisor, •be and hereby is author-
ized to make partial payments, as he deems necessary and, as the work
progresses on the contract between the Town of Southold and George H.
Smith & Sons, Inc. , , for repairing, remodelling and improving the Town
`, Building located on the -northerly. side of Main Road, Southold, Suffolk
County, New York, approximately 300 feet east of Hortons Lane% final
payment to be made within 30 days after the completion and acceptance
of the work.
