HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-04/15/1952-S 42�� v MEETING OF APRIL 151 ,1952 A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, April 15, 1952. The meeting was called to order at 7 o' clock P.M. with the following poesent: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Alb:eTtwon and Clark; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. In accordance with Section 197 of the Town Law a notice was publish- ed in the newspaper of the Town requesting sealed proposals on re- pairing and remodelling the Town Building located on the northerly side of Main Road at Southold. Only one bid was submitted which was by George H. Smith and Sons. Some discussion was held on the matter and the final decision of ` the Town Board was to hold it ober until the meeting of April 22. A request was received from Edwin H. King to have a street light placed in front of the Historical Society Building in Orient. RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to re- quest the Long Island Lighting Company to remove the 100 c.p* light on pole No. 15 and replace it on pole "o. 16• with a 400 C.P. light on an 8 foot arm, on Village Lane in the Orient Light District. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Albert- son and Clark. Justice Albertson requested a change of C.P. in the street light at the intersection of Town Harbor Lane and. the Main Road. F Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Terry: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove the 100 c.p. light on pole No. 782 and replace it with a 250 c.p. light, at the inter- r section of Town Harbor Lane and the Main Road in the Southold Light District. Vote of Town Board; Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Albertson and Clark. A communication was read from the New London Freight Lines , Inc. making an application for a street light to be installed on Southold Town property adjacent to the property, of the New London Freight Lines , Inc. This area being out of the Orient Lighting District , the Town Clerkrinstructed to contact Mr. Sam Raffe, manager of the New London-Orient ?oint Ferry at Orient, and suggest to him that he take the matter up with the Long Island Lighting Company.
