HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-02/13/1952 414 Meeting of February 13, 1952 �- The Southold Town Board met at . the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Wednesday, February 13, 1952. The meeting was called to order at .1:30 P.M.- with the following present:' Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark; Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clark Booth. The Town Board sat as a committee on audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 2::30 P.M. The mtmutes of the previous meeting were read and weave duly _ approved as read. George F. Grathwohl appeared before the Board requesting it to have four additional street lights installed on Grathwohl Road, in New Suffolk. , a Moved By Justice Albertson; seconded by 'Justice Clark: . RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and hereby is .directed to re- rr. quest the Long Island Lighting Company to install four additional aerial street lights in the Cutchogue and New Suffolk Li hting District, said lights to be placed on poles . #149 #177 K9 and #30 on Grathwohl Road New Suffolk. Vote of Town Board:: Ayes- Supervisor KlIpp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice 'Clark; seconded by Justice Albertson: ` RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board .be held At the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tuesday, March 11, 1952, at 1:30 P:M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp, Justices Terry, 1 Tuthill, Albertson and Clark,. Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be authorized to enter into a lease with the Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church of 1, Southold for a tract of land to be used for a parking field At Southold, for * term of ten years from January 1, 1952, which term will end on January 1, 1912, for an annual rental of $1.00. �:. , Vote of Town Board: Ayes- _ Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. A communication was read from Herbert B. Hayden requesting permission from the Town Board to erect a fence in front of the property now owned by his wife, at Mattituck. Aucording to the map this fence would encroach on the highway. The Supervisor was instructed to take the matter up with Mr. Hayden. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- bupervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, . Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by .Justice Tuthill: + RESOLVED: that the probationary appointmdnt of Edward S. Szozotka (Brush) . and Charles Jacobs as Police Patrolman (Constables) of the Town of Southold, be changed to permanent }- appointments, and that the compensation of said appointees be increased from seven dollars to. seven dollars. and seventy cents - per day, payable in regular bi-weekly payments effective Mach 89 r� 1952. , r 4: Vote of Town Board: Ayes- bupervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, r Tuthill, Albertson and Clark. The meeting was called to order at 7 o'clock P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill and Clark; and Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: ' No. 1 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA $109000.00 STATE OF NEW YORK COUNTY OF SUFFOLK TOWN OF SOUTHOLD BUDGET NOTE OF 1252. The TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, in the County of Suffolk, a 'municipality of the State of New York, hereby acknowledges itself indebted �- and for value received promises, to pay to the First rational Bank of Greenport the sum of Ten Thousand (810,000. ) . Dollars , on the 28th day of lFebruary, 19537 together with interest r thereon from the 'dat.e hereb.f. at the rate of 1.9% per annum, ,payable annually.
