MEETING OF JANUARY 29, . 1952

.� Klipp at Gr.eenport, on Tuesday, 'January 297 1952,. .The meeting was
called to:.order at 1:30 P.M. .with the following present: Supervisor
K1ipp- .Justic.es"Terry, Tuthillq Albertson and,Clark; Town 'guperinten-
._.Y, dent of Highways Write; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk-Booth.
The minutes of the previous meeting were. read and were duly approved

RESOLVED: -That- the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board be
held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Wednesday,

A letter was read from Ella 'L. Phillips tending her resignation as
Clerk for the Supervisor, to become effective as of February 29, 1952.
Moved by Justice Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the resignation of Ella L. Phillips- as Clerk for the
- � Supervisor be accepted, affective as of February 29, 1952, and be
, .., it further
RESOLVED: That this Town Board accept this resignation with regret,
and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Board is deeply appreciative of the many
long years _.of faithful and efficient service rendered to the Town
by Miss Phillips.

Albertson and Clark.

RESOLVED: That Theresa A. Lindsay be and hereby is appointed to the
position of Clerk for the Supervisor to take effect as of March 1,
1952, and . be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation of Theresa A. Lindsay be increased
•': from Twenty --two Hundred dollars ($2200.00) to Twenty-four Hundred
Dollars $24001QO) per year, payable in regular monthly installments.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Klipp; Justices Terry, Tuthill,
Albertson and Clark.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Terry;
RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board does hereby approve the
recommendation of the Superintendent of Highways to increase the
salaries of the employees of the Southold Town Highway Department.

, ,. Albertson and Clark, and Superintendent of Highways Price.
" The hearing on the -matter of purchasing machinery for the Town
Highway Department, which was advertised in accordance with Section
142 of the Highway Law, was duly opened at 3:30 P.M. No person
appeared before the Board to speak either for or against the items
mentioned in the legal notice: The hearing was duly closed at 4 P.M.

WHEREAS the Town Superintendent of Highways Rid on the 29th day of
January , 1952, duly recommend the purchase of ,certain machinery
pursuant to the proilisions of Section 142 of the Highway Law, and
a note of such recommendation has been.;duly published as .provided
in such section. _
NOW- THEREFORE BE ,IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 142 of- the
Highway Law the Town Superintendent of Highways is. hereby. ..authorized,.;
to purchase from The Municipal Machinery Co. with the approval of the
County Superintendent of Highways:
. TWO GOOD ROADS CHAMPION SNOW PLOWS
FOR a total price of One thousand four hundred twenty & O0/100
dollars ($11420.00) , . delivered at Peconic, L.I. , N.Y. , and' to be
delivered on or about February 10, 1952.
A contract of purchase for the items purchased shall be duly executed
}, between the Town 'Superintendent of Highways and such vendors` and wham
duly approved by the County Superintendent of Highways, it ,shall be-
come effective.When such contract has been duly- executed and approved,

the Supervisor is .authorized .to;. coinglete ..such purchase upon delivery
of the items purchased in accordance with- the terms of such resolution {-
and 'such contract, -.and to. pay the above amount specified. to be paid
by a check drawn on thp' Machiner'y Fund, for $19420.00.- "

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the
Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in combining the
position of Secretary with that of the Manager, ' and be , it further
RESOLVED: That the Southold Toim. Board approves the compensation of
the Manager in the amount of Thirty-six Hundred Dollars ($3600.00)
per year effective as of January 1, 1952. ,1 -

WHEREAS, There exists a vacancy caused by the resignation of James W.
Gordon, Purser on .,the M/V Mystic Isle, effective as of January 15, 1952,
and
WHEREAS, The Commissioners of. the Fishers island Ferry District have �-
appointed Ernest J. Bowles to fill 'such vacancy, now, therefore, be tt
RESOLVED: That the Town Board of Nhe Town of Southold approves the
action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District and r
be it further
RESOLVED: That Ernest J. Bowles be compensated for such . position in
the amount of Theee Thousand Dollars ($3000.00) per year, payable - '
in regular monthly payments , and be it further
RESOLVED: That this appointment take effect as of January 15, 1952.

Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED:. That Theodore Doroski be and hereby is appointed School
Traffic 'jfficer to direct traffic at the Cutchogue School Crossing
at Depot -Lane and Main Road, to fill the vacancy during the absence
of School Traffic Officer Frank Coyne, be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for such duty will be Four Dollars ,r-
($4.00) 'per day, for each school day worked. �
