The Organizati.on. Mee.ting -of the Southold .Town Board was-- held-at the

81'. 1952. The' 'meeting was called to order at •1:30 P. M..` with the
following_--presents Supervisor Klpp; Justices Terry, Tuthill, Albertson
and Clark; Town Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry L
and Town Clerk Booth. �.
The Board sat at once as a committee`- on audit to examine claims
against the Town concluding concluding the audit work at 2 P.M. Y,
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and were duly approved
as read.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will -be
held at the ,office of the Supervisor at Greenport, on Tuesday, T,-
January 29, 1952, at 1:30 P.M.

with the proper parties as is required by Section 30, Subdivdsion 39
of the Town Law.

with 'the -proper parties as is required by Section 301 Subdivision 3 ,
of the Town Law.

RESOLVED: That the Assessors of the Town of Southold who use their
automobiles in the performance of their- duties for 'the Town will be
compensated for the use of such automobiles in an amount not to exceed
eight cents ($.08) per mile.

are designated as the official newspapers to publish the notice of t he
Receiver of Taxes that he is in receipt mf such tax 'and. assessment. roll
and warrants, and that the taxes and assessments therein may be paid
to the Receiver at the time and with- penalty as provided by law, and
of the dares and places other than his principal offices- when and where
he will attend for the receipt of taxes and assessments- in accordance
with Section 22 of the Suffolk County Tax Act.

hereby is authorized to pay ro Edward L. Frost of Orient New York, the
sum. of Thirty-one Dollars and Eighty-eight cents ($31.88.3 for. the use of
the land owned by Mr. Frost, located -on the west side of Main Street,
Orient, New York, as a Town parking lot, in accordance with an agreement
�i entered into between Mr. Frost and the Town of Southold, dated Dec.3,1947,
and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be authorized to enter into a lease for
the .use of the above mentioned parking space. for a term of one year,
commencing January 1! 1952 at thirty-five-- dollars ($3 5.00) per year,
and be it further (and ending December 31, 1952)
RESOLVED: That that portion of. the above mentioned property used for public
parking be included and covered by the Town's scheduled owners, landlords
and tenants liability policy in the amount of $20,000. each person and
$40,000. each accident.

- RESOLVED: That the compensation for such duty will be Four Dollars
($4.00) per day for each school day worked.

the Fishers Island Ferry District Account No. 2 be and hereby is abolished. +'

,Commissioners of the Fishers ysland Ferry District oS entering into ^�
a contract with Alfred S. Bicknell, residing at Mystic, Connecticut,
for the operation of the vessel Mystic Isle as a public ferry for the
transportation for hire of persons, vehicles and goods, wares and mer-
chandise between Fishers island and New York, and the mainland for a
period commencing �anuary'1, -1952, and ending December 31 1952 -both
dates inclusive.,. , ,

Town Assessors who in addition to his regular duties shall perform
such services in connection with assessment .and 'taxation of property
for state, county and town purposes as the Town Board shall direct,now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That RAYMOND W. TERRY be and hereby is designated to hold
the office of Chairman of the Town Board of Assessors until the first
, day of anuary nextsucceeding such designation all in accordance with

WHEREAS: Section 62 of the Town Law requires that every Town Board shall
meet on br after the 28th day of December,' but not later than the , 31st

WHEREAS: Thereis no other time specified by law when meetings of the
Town Board of a Second Class Town should be held, now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be._ and hereby is empowered to call all
meetings of the town Board as may be required for the best interest
of the Town, and be it further

Supervisor Klipp - Ex officio member of all Committee's.
Within sixty (60) days after the close of. 'the' fiscai year the.:Treasurer
of each Fire District shall file in the office of the Town Clerk and
the State Comptroller a financial statement setting forth ' in -detail the
receipts and expenditures of the Fire- District for lihe ,previous .fiscal
year. (Section 181 of the Town Law) ,r
On or before the 1 5th day of January in each year;, the Commissioners of
each Improvement District shall file with the, Town- Clerk a financial
L . report for the presiding fiscal year. (Section 215, Subdivision- 9', " Towm
f-. Law)
The Town Clerk should advise the Town Board as to existing contracts
for lighting, garbage collection, fire protection, water supply, and also
leases of any property rented by the Town, and specify the date of:
expiration of such contracts. ( Section 64 Subdivision 2 and� 19,
Section 183, 184 and '198, Subdivision 6,7,k and 9- of the Town Law) ..

The Town Clerk should- supply to the Executive Secretary of- the Association
of Towns at the Hotel Ten Eyck, Albany, New Yorkq a correct list of
the names and addresses of all Town Officers and the Supervisor should
advise the members .that hey the Town Clerkq iustices. of the Peace;
Superintendent of highways ' Asseesorsq Welfare Officer, and the Town
Attorney will receive copies of meetings', bulletinsq issued by the �r
Town 'and County Officers Training School on subjects of interest
and importance to various officers.
