-.., Meeting of. December 5, 1945
' The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor S.
_T Wentworth Horton, at Greenport , on Wednesday, December 5, 1945.
The meeting wa's called to order at 1 :30 P.Ius. with the following
present : Supervisor Horton; Justices Hawkins, Klipp and Cases
Superintendent of Highways , Price; Town Attorney, Terry and Town
Glerk, Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims
against the Town concluding the audit at 2 P.M.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as
read ..
Moved by Justice Hawkins , seconded by Justice Klipp :
Resolved: That General Bills in the amount of $2,194.58, Reimbursable
Welfare Bills- in the amount of $¢4.00, Non-reimbursablle Welfare Bills
.. � in the amount of $16.88 be and the same is hereby ordered paid.
Unanimously adopted.

Moved by Jhstice Hawkins; seconded by Justice Klipp :
Resolved That the Town Board approve the substitution of the
Peoples National Bank of Greenport of $5,000. U.S.A. Tr.easurary
Bonds , 22s of 1956-58 which are due Dec. 15, 1945, for $4,500.
U:S..A. Treasurary Bonds 2.2s. These bonds to be held on escrow
as collateral by the Peoples. National Bank of Greenport.
Unanimously adopted.
A letter was read from the Greenport Chamber of Commerce requesting
�> the Town Board let the contract for furnishing ;fire protection
to the newly formed Fire Protection District to the Greenport Fire
.-� Department.
-The Town Clerk was instructed to communicate with the Greenport'
Chamber of Commerce and inform than that they may be assured
that the Town Board will give every consideration for bids from
the Greenport Fire Department to the East and Nest Greenport Fire
Protection District , whenever such bids are received.

Whereas : It. was necessary to spend a larger amount of money this
-? year than was anticipated to repair the highways on Fishers Island
due��,to the heavy army traffic and to the shortage of road materials
for the past four years. .
-, Therefore Be It Resolved : That the Town Clerk be authorized to
Communicate with the County Superintendent of Highways , and request
the •release of the reserve fund in' the highway account in the sum
of $6,11.6.99 to pay for the balance of this work.

-> Moved by Justice Hawkins, seconded by Justice Case:
Resolved : That the Town Clerk be instructed to request the Long
Island Lighting Go. to- connect the lights on Jockey Greek Bridge,
<<= Southold, with the regular street light current.
Unanimously adopted.
47" Moved by Justice Hawkins, seconded by Justice Case:
Resolved. That . the Annual Audit meeting of the Town Board be held
at the office of the Supervisor,, on Friday, Dec. 28, 1945,- at
1:30 P.M. and that the reports of the several officials be presented
at . that meeting.
Unanimously adopted.
