Resolved : That the `sown Clerk be instructed to communicate
with the Trustees of the Fishers Island School, and extend to
_ them. a vote of thanks and appreciation from the Southold Town
Board for the use of the school auditorium in which the Board
held their meeting on august 281, 1945.

held at the Town Clerk's Office on Friday, September 21, 1945,
at 1:30 P;M. The hearing on the proposed extention of the Southold
-w Fire District will be held at 2 :80 E.M.

Meeting of September 21, 1945
The Southold Town Beard met at the office of the Town Clerk
at Southold, on Friday September 21, 1945. The meeting was called
to order at 1:30 P.M'* with the following present : Supervisor
Horton; Justices Terry; Hawkins and Case; Town Attorney Terry
and Town Clerk Boath.
_;. The hearing on the proposed extention of the Southold Fire Dis-
trict was officially opened at 2:00 P.1.2. Howard Terry, Com-
missioner Southold Fire District , appeared before the Board in
favor of the petition.As no- other person appeared before the
Board the hearing was closed at 2 :10 P.M.

Resolved Following resolution: :
WHEREAS, there has been duly presented to this Town Board
of the Town of Southold a written petition requesting the
estab-lishment of a proposed addition to the Southold Fire District
within the lovvn of Southold, to embrace the territory hereinafter
described; find
WHEREAS, thi.s .Board has determined that such petition was
signed and acknowledged by resident taxpayers owning more than.
' one-half of the taxable real property of such district , and
V.MRE.AZ,, a notice containing a description of the proposed
fire district and specifying the time when the the place where
the Town Board would meet to consider the petition and to hear
-' all persons interested in the subject concerning the same , has
been published and posted as required by law, and a public hearing
has taken place in the Town Glerk*s Office in the Town of Southold,
Suffolk County, New York, within the limits of the proposed fire
,. district on the 21st day of September , 1945, it is hereby
' RESOLVED, that this Board find and determine upon the
evidence given at said hearing, that it is in the public interest
to grant in whole the relief sought , and it is further
RESOLVED, that pursuant to Section 171 of the Town Law of the
State of New Y_rk, there be and hereby is established and extended
afire district within the Town of Southold, to be contained
in and embrace the following boundaries , to wit :-
ALL that part of the Town of Southold, CaIuity1:1of Suffolk, New
York, bounded and described as follows :-
BEGINNING at a point where the Easterly ling of Southold
Fire District adjoins the Northerly line of Arshamomoque Creek or
Pond and then running Northerly along the Easterly line of Southold
Fire District across the road to Long Island Sound; thence East-
erly along Long Island Sound to the Northeasterly corner of land
of Burt ; thence manning Southerly along land of Burt to the North
Road at the Southeasterly corner of said Burt 's land; thence
continuing along the same course across the North Road to land of
_y Ruch; thence running Easterly along the Northerly side of the
North Road to the Northeasterly corner of land of Bodecker; thence
Southerly along land of Bodecker to the Southeasterly corner there-
- of thence Easterly to land of Merkel, Inc . ; thence Southerly
along land of Merkel , Inc . to land of Cassidy; thence ;desterly
along land of Cassidy to the Easterly side of Arshamomoque Creek or
Pond and thence Northerly along the Easterly line of Arshamomoque
Creek or Pond to the point or place of beginning.

RESOLVED, that this Board find and determine that. all the --
property, property owners and interested persons within the pro—
posed district are benefited thereby, and that all property or
property owners benefited are included therein. �-

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting' of the Town
Board and the preliminary budget meeting, be held at the office
of the Supervisor on Friday, Oct. 5, 1945 at 1:30 P.M. Y�
