The meeting was call- ed to order at 1 :30 P.M. with the following present : Supervisor Horton; Justices Terry; Hawkins; Klipp and Case; Town Superintendent of Highways , Price; Town Attorney, Terry and Town Clerk, Booth. The Boart sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit at 1 :50 P.M. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved as read. .r Moved by Justice Hawkins; seconded by Justice Terry: --�� Resolved: . That General Bills in the amount of $642.64, Reimbursable Welfare Bills in the amount of $8.85, , Non-remibursable Welfare Bills .'' in the amount of $44.51 be and the same is hereby ordered paido Unanimously adopted. ' Moved by Justice Hawkins; seconded by Justice Case : Resolved : That the Town Clerk be instructed to order the Long Island �^ Lighting Co.. to install one additional light in the Southold Lighting r+' District.; said light to be on Pole No. 9, Founders Estates , Southold. �y. Unanimously adopted. ' Moved by Justice Case; seconded by Justice Klipp : Resolved: That the Town Board place the matter of protecting escal- lops in the hands of the Supervisor; and that he hereby, is authoriz- ed to appoint at his discretion Officer Antone Chituk to special duty -� to enforce the escallop Ordinance. Unanimously adopted. Capt. Chas. Sproessig appeared before the Board complaining about people clamming on his property at. Cutchogue. The Board feels that he is entitled to some protection. Justice Case was requested to inform the Town Police to act on Mr. Sproessig's complaint. Moved by Justice Case ; seconded by Justice Terry : Resolved : That Mrs. Marguerite Young be engaged to assist on the _ tax books. at a salary of $5.00 per day. y .Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Case; seconded by Justice Hawkins : Resolved: That as the required papers have been duly received by the Town Board, and the map has been fuly filed, the Town Board take. + _ , over and maintain the road known as ,,,icks Road in the village of New Suffolk. Unanimously adopted. r H Mowed. by Justice Case;, seconded by Justice Terry: Resolved: That the Southold Town Board hereby recommends Frank S. Dawson of New Suffolk for reappointment as Attendance Supervisor for the common schools of the Town of Southold for the year 1945-46, at a salary of $750. per annum, he to pay his own travel expense. Said appointment subject to the approval o-f the District Superinten- dent of Schools and that the Town Clerk be directed to notify the Superintendent, Harry B. ?ward of the recommendation of this Board. Unanimously adopted. Moved by Justice Terry; seconded by Justice Hawkins : Resolved: That the regular monthly audit meeting of the Town Board be held .at the Supervisor 's office on Tuesday, Aug. 7 , 1945 at 1:30 P.M.
