The Southold Town Board met at the office of S. TvTentworth Horton,
at Greenport on Tuesday, June 5, 1945. The meeting was called to
-y order at 1:30 P.M. with the foolowing present: Supervisor Horton;
Justice Terry; Hawkins and Klipp ; Superintendent of Highways
Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims
against the Tovm, concluding the audit at 1 :50 P.M.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reed and duly approved. as
read.
Moved by Justice Hawkins ; seconded by Justice Klipp :
Resolved : That General Bills in -the amount of �1,575.74, Reimbur-
sable Welfare Bills in the Amount of $5.00, Non-reimbursable Welfare
-- Bills in the amount of $25.29 be and the same is hereby ordered paid.
Unanimously adopted.

h, Resolved : ' That each assessor shall receive six cents for each mile
necessarily traveled by the use of his own automobile or otherwise for
-" the inquiry as to damages done by dogs .

;'- The Town Clerk was instructed by the Town Board to communicate with
r H. Sacks and Sons , 'and inform them that the residents of Mattituck
T '-`;.,ect to having the tree on Westphalia Road removed, said tree stands
on the highway from the west end of their building.
Moved by Justice Hawkins ; seconded by Justice Klipp :
Resolved : That a vote of thanks be extended to "Mess Marion Arnold
for the faithful and efficient manner in which she has carried on the
work of Civilian Defense during the past four years .
Unanimously adopted.

Resolved : That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board be held
on ftiday, June 22, 1945 at 1:30 P.M.

CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATION
We, JOHN L. ►MASSON) JOHN MUNULTY and HAROLD R. REEVE; being
__A the duly elected and all of the Park Commissioners of the Mattituck
Park District hereby certify pursuant to Chapter 924 of the Laws of
1941 that at a special meeting of the resident taxpayers of the 1,Tat-
1, tituck Park District held at the Mattituck Fire House, Pike Street ,
Mattituck, in the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk and state of
New York on the 28th day of April, 1945 between the hours of 7 :00
>> P.M. and 10;00 P.M. Eastern War Time, the sum of Four Thousand Five
Hundred ($4500.00) Dollars was appropriated by said resident tax-
payers for the purpose of purchasing the lands described in the an-
nexed notice of meeting, to be provided by the issuance and sale of
' town bonds. .
