The Southold Town Board met at the office of S. Wentworth Horton
at Greenport, on Friday, January 26, 1945. The meeting was called
to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Horton; Justice Terry; Harkins and. Case; Superintendent of Highways
Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.

The munutes of the previous meeting were read and duly approved
as read.
A petition was 'read from C.H. Wickham requesting the Town Board to
take over a road at ITarratooka, Mattituck to be worked as a public
highway. The Board agreed to view this road at their first op—
portunity.
Several letters of appreciation iation were read from the �'JR
pA parents and wives .
of men in the armed forces for the beautiful Certificates of Honor <<
which were issued by the Town Board.
Moved by Justice Case; seconded by Justice Terry: f
Resolved: That the Town Clerk be and he 'is hereby instructed to -
purchase an -18" carriage for the Burroughs Calculating Machine at ` x
the approximate cost of $212.76.
Unaminously adopted.
Moved by Justice Hawkins;. seconded by Justice Case :
Resolved: That the monthly audit meeting of this Board be held on
Wednesday, February ?, 1945, at 1:30 P.M. '
Unaminously adopted.
The time was later changed to 7 :30 P.M. i
Adjournment was at 4:00 P.M.
