Tom Czelatka;, Bay Constable /Council Trustee John DiVello In order to work closer with them, the Trustees met with Charles Hamilton of the :Department ,of Environmental- Conservation to- discuss .-the views and philos'oph-ies: of .the -DEC on projects. . He stated the DEC and Army Corps of Engineers said no dredging. Mr. Stoutenburgh 'told him the Trustees would help him with the permits, if needed. The Boa rd' requested,-letters be sent- to Fred ;Melin '-and Marino .Faraauna= - stating they could place clean upland -fi11 behind-' their-- bulkheads <on. Skunk Lane, Cutchogue. After 'discusaioni:-,it -was-cl4reed by..the Boar ld that- William =LaMorte- could put the spoils from dredging behind his retaining wall -'at� na charge, as- the property being dredged` is- riot =iha Town waters. --' 1 . Discussion was 'held on: the,'appI-icat on of The Lagoon -Association for dredging 'Tom Samuels- 'efated''the firm of Geracrhty and Miller =Yiad' suggested driving well -points_Lei4ht feet below the bottomhand, 'at -' 'various locations in the Lagoon `and then =tes-ting the water quality, in, '-each well. The logic behind this -being -if 'there was nothing but salt water be1'ow,�. no intrusion would take place: "The `Board requested a letter- 'be- sent to Anthony Candela of the DEC stating the above and asking that he oversee it. Mr. Samuels stated and the Board agreed that the well .points were to i - be driven -in, 'not jetted'= n by water: -On motion made by Mr.-` Smith, seconded- by -Mr. Kuj-awska , -it was RESOLVED to approve the application of Cheryl Pagnozz wdth the provision the original dock is to be removed and placed on the other side of the railway. Stoutenburgh,`- Kujawski, -Smith-, Bednoski; DiVello. i 477 On motion made by Mr. Smith, seconded by Mr. Bednoski and carried, all the =mooring renewal permits -for the month of March were approved On motion made by Mr. Stoutenburgh, seconded by-Mr. Kujawski, it,.was RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board to amend the Shellfish Qrdiaance to include a fee of three dollars ($13:00) per family :for-.resident non-commercial permits and to establish a limit-iof one..hundred-.:-.(100)=•:61ams per person per day. Monies collected for fees are to :be earmarked =ex- clusively for the seed clam program. Vote of Board: Ayes : Mess-rs':: Stoutenburgh,, Kujawski, Smith, Bednoski, DiVello. Discussion was held on a letter from the Southold Town Bagmen 's Association in regard',-to _-violations pertaining to,.laak.-of,;permits. issued: by the,.Cor.ps of• Army'_Engineers• and the ,•Southold._' Town .Board of .Trustee's• for =construction projects. ' In regard to a letter from the Orient Mosquito'_Dis'tricy, . the Board = . requested a reply be sent stating they must have permits for a drain in Narrow River ='Road, -as'-it is partly in -Town- Waters. _ The=:Board requested,=a reply-.be -s-erit' to-Robert, Stewart ­in� regard to- his letter concerning .:the, finger -piers, :at: Matt-A=Mar: Marina. There being no further business to come before the meeting, Mr. Kujawski made a motion, seconded by Mr. Bednoski and carried, to adjourn. The meeting closed at 9 :45 PM.
