M I N U T E S
A special 'meeting:-of the Southold Town Trustees was held on
Friday, February 18, 1983, at 3:30 PM, at Town Hall, Main
Road, Southold, New York.
Present were:
President Paul Stoutenburgh
Vice-Pres. Frank Kujawski
Trustee Henry Smith
Trustee Vohn DiVello
Trustee John Bednoski
Clerk Ilene Pfifferling
A discussion was held in regard to the proposed legislation,
submitted by ,Attorney Tasker, i.n "relation 'to the term of
office of the Southold ,Town Trustees to be- changed from two
to four years. It was requested that the trustees review
this proposal. If acceptable, a letter will be sent to the
Town Clerk, 'JLd;th Terry, asking her to submit the proposed
Legislation to the New York State Legislature for• action .at
the current session. It was agreed by all of the Trustees,
that the proposal was acceptable.
In regard to the Association of Towns Meeting, which- is to be
held in New York City, Mr. DiVello reported that' he would not
attend, after being advised funds were not available. . Mr.
Stoutenburgh told Mr. DiVello , after a discussion with Mr. e11 _
- Mr. Murdock- 'and Mr. Townsend that- if he 'did want to go, funds
could be made available.
A discussion was held in reference to a letter received from
.Mr. Pell, regarding -a sign-and anchorage buoys in Mattituck
Creek. It was requested that Mr. Stoutenburgh sit ,down with
Attorney Tasker to go over what the Local Law- should include,
r to amend the Town Code. All of the Trustees agreed this would
be acceptable.
In reference to the application of Constantine P. Geor io oulos kyY
to fill and raise grade of lot off Great Pond, Southold,
, Mr. Stoutenburgh repoi7ted,,.after speaking to .Mr. Tasker, that -9
the Trustees do have jurisdiction to make a determination
whether this- is a wetland or- not.
A dis'cussib'h was held in reference to a dock being put up by �
Siberna el. Mr. Stoutenburgh said-he would call Mr. Haie
and ask him to come to the next meeting, which is to be held
on March 1, 1983.

On Motion made by Mr. Kujawski, seconded by- Mr. •DiVello and
carried, the meeting was -adjourned.

President Stoutenburgh called the. meeting: to order at 7:,30 P.M.
On motion made by John Bednoski, seconded: by Henry Smith and
carried, the minutes of the February 1, 1983 meeting were approved.

On motion made by Henry Smith, seconded by Frank Kujawski and
carried, the mooring renewal permits .for the month of April
were approved.._

RESOLVED to approve the application of John Billman to place
a mooring in Hallocks Bay, Orient, • with the provision that it
does :not interfere with other_ boats moored_-and •it. will -not' swing

The Board agreed that a letter be sent to Mr. Henry Raynor,
and. the Planning Board members, in- reference to a launching ramp
giving access to the sound in the .Mattitck Creek area. : A

1_ocation .for. a ramp in the Orient area. to give access to the
bay is suggested also. Vote of Board: Ayes: Messrs. Stoutenburgh
Smith, DiVello, Bednoski, Kujawski
