The area of West Lake has no public access. This is the reason that it is not recommended to the County to be dredged. Little Creek has public access. Please contact us with any further questions. We request that the Trustees add this project to the list of those which are recommended for dredging by the County. An examination of the tax map shows that there are 21 private properties fronting on Little Creek, which has been dredged by the county on more than one occasion. There are 19 private properties fronting on West Lake, and so it is not unreasonable to think that dredging this Trustee-owned underwater land should receive the same consideration. WHEREAS,Proper-T P rmit Services on behalf of West Lake Association applied to the Southold Town Truste for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, applicati n dated December 30th 2002 WHEREAS, said plication was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for their findings d recommendations, and WHEREAS, Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on January 22, 2003 at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning this application, and, WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 97-18 of the Southold Town Code. 2 WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health, Safety and general welfare of the people of the town.
