Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor- Albertson; ouncilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is auth- orized and directed to advertise for bids for proposals to furnish to- the Town of Southold six (6) new police cars and to trade in five (5) used police cars. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $10, 221.49; Lighting District Bills in the amount of $2, 583 .47; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $8, 929.51 be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Copy of letters acknowledging the receipt of the letter of' the Suffolk County Board of Supervisors regarding the nuclear salt water plan in the Town of Southold were received from Governor Rockefeller and State Assemblyman Prescott B. Huntington. A letter was received from Merwin Gruschkin, the present operator of Town Beach Concession Stand..-- and Facilities, advising the Town that he is unable to continue operation of said Concession Stand and therefore requests that Town of Southold cancel the agreement dated May 11, 1960.. A letter was received from the State Traffic Commission denying a re- quest for a lower speed limit on Bay Avenue, Cutchogue, N.Y. Adjournment was at 5: 30 P.M. Albert W. Richmond Town Clerk MEETING ' OF MARCH 13, 1962 WAIVER OF NOTICE OFTOWN BOARD MEETING WE, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to be held at Greenport, in the Town of Southold, New York on Tuesday, March 13, 1962, and do hereby consent that the same be held on said date for the transaction of any business which may properly come before this meeting. A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the Supervisor ' s Office, 16 South Street, Greenper t, N.Y. , the members of the Board having waived notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting. The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor at 3: 00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt: of Highways Price; Town Attorny 12",asker and Town Clerk Richmond. t 60 Moved by Councilman Grathowhl; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, the Southold Planning Board has prepared an official report and recommendation upon the proposals to amend the Building Zone Ordin- and of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will .be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor ' s Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on March 27, 1962, at 7: 30 on the following proposed amendments to the Southold Town Building Zone Ordinance including the Building Zone Maps, to wit: 1. By amending the Southold Town Building Zone Ordinance as follows:. 1. By amending Article III, Section 300 by inserting therein a new subdivision to be subdivision lA to read as follows: lA - Two (2) family dwellings, when authorized as a special. exception by the Board of Appeal >_ as hereinafter provided. II. By amending Article III, Section 300, Subdivison 7 to read , as follows: 7 - Accessory buildings, including one (1) private . garage, when such accessory buildings are located in the rear yard or a private garage within or attached to the dwelling. III. By amending Article IV, Section 408; subdivision (b) , -subsection 2 to read as follows: 2 . Exceed in width one hundred (100) percent of the horizontal measurement of such .wall. IV. By.__"amending Article IV, Section 408, by inserting therein a new subdivison to be subdivision (c) to read as follows: (c) - ROOF SIGNS - in lieu of a wall sign authorized by the preceding subdivision (b) , a roof sign shall be permitted provided that the same is attached to or incorporated in a roof, which sign shall advertise 6nly the business conducted in the building upon which it is attached, and provided that .such sign does not: 1. Exceed two (2) sgware feet in total area for each lineal foot of such roof, and 2. Extend above the highest point of the roof in the case of a pitched roof, and in all other cases exceed two (2) feet six (6) inches in height above the highest point of the roof, and 3 . Project beyond the edge of the roof. V. By amending Article VII, Section 705, to read as follows: Section 705 - For each application or Appeal to the Board of Appeals as hereinafter provided, there shall be a fee of five dollars ($5 .00) accompanying the Application or Appeal. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, a petition was received from KENNETH CASE requesting a change of zone of certain property situated in Peconic, N.Y. .-and more fully described in said petition from "A" Residential and, A7 icultural Districtto "B" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of South9miness be and he hereby is directed to tramsmit said petition to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 9M1„ Subdivision C of Article IX of the of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Soui-h old, Suffolk County, New York. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, Edna Brown, Assessor of the Town of Southold, has requested permission to attend a school for Assessors at no cost to the Town of Southold, said school to be held the first week in April, 1962, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board. of the Town of Southold does hereby grant such permission. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl; WHEREAS, the Police Committee reported that the lowest bid on the Auxili- ary Police Reefers was submitted by Abe Brown of Greenport, N.Y. RESOLVED: That Lester M. Albertson, Supervisor, be and he hereby is directed to enter into a contract with Abe Brown for the purchase of Auxiliary Police Reefers in accordance with bids submitted. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Grathwohl' WHEREAS, it is required by Section 148 of the Education Law that a local Historian shall be appointed by the Supervisor of a Town, and WHEREAS, THE Supervisor has appointed Florence Kramer to act as Town Historian, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That Florence Kramer be compensated while acting in such capacity in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per year, payable in regular monthly payments, as of Feb. 1, 1962, and BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certifi- cate�n with the proper parties as is required by Section 30, Subdivision 3 of the Town Law. Albertson be and he hereby is directed to execute an application to the State Comptroller for permission to issue Bonds for the acquisition of certain real property and the construct- ion of a building and appurtenant equipment for the Cutchogue New Suffolk Park District in the--sum of $27, 350.00. Vote of Town Board: ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Grathwohl; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Supt. of Highways of the Town of Southold be author- ized tl purchase the following item: One (1) chain saw - at a cost not to exceed $350.00.
