Leaders.,has asked that all religious and civic leaders.-to cooperate in an all-out campaign to .pr-event tragedy on the highways and in the homes of our country,-, and WHEREAS, the Town of Southold will conduct ..a .Christmas campaign which will demonstrate that man is literally his brother' s keeper; THEREFORE, as Supervisor _of. this Town, I do hereby, on behalf of the citizenry of. the .:Town.'_of .Southold, . declare enthusiastic. participation in.-the. 1965 Christmas Holiday Safety Campaign and wish to call. upon the people-:of our town tn- observe the. period of December 1. to January 2 and to join in the effort to reduce accidents during this year' s , Christmas-New Year. holidays..
