The Southold Town Board met at the office of. the Supervisor, Lester
M. Albertson, at Greenport,. New York, . on September 7, 1965, with the
following present: `Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; . Justices. Tuthill and Clark; Superintendent of Highways
Price; Town 'Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at
the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street,
Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, September 21, 1965,, at 3: 00 P.M. . .

RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of .the. Town. Board )onAugust

duly made findings :and. determinations as required bylaw,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE..IT RESOLVED:. That the Supervisor be and he hereby
is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town,,Board
the findings and'.determinations as required by law, .and. it is- further
RESOLVED: That .the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue
a Bingo License .to the .Marian Council ,#3852 Knights of, Columbus,
Cutchogue, New York. _

WHEREAS,. Southold Town Planning -Board- has prepared an official report
and recommendation. upon the petition of Irving L. . Price representing.,
Rarus Inc. for a change of zone from "A" Residential .and Agricultural
District to ."B-2!' Business District .on certain property on Arshamom
aque,..-New York,NOW',. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing
will. be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's- Office,
16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on September ;28, 1965,.. at 7: 30 P.M.
on the .above mentioned petition. and that the ,Town 'Clerk be and he
hereby is authorized and directed to cause a notice. of said hearing
to be publl.ished in' the Suffolk Times pursuant to the requirements
of law.

for 'a, change of zone from "A" Residential and Agriculural District; ,, .
to "B" Business District an. certain property in Orient, New York,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE .IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held
by the .Southold Town- Board at the Supervisor' s Office, 16 South
Street, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, September 28, 1965, at
7:30 P.M. on the above mentioned petition and thatathe Town Clerk be
and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause a notice of said
hearing to be published in the Suffolk Times pursuant to the require
ments of law.

WHEREAS, the Bond No. 56=57-234 was Itssued by the Fidelity and
Deposit Company in .the name of H.J.S. Land and' Development Corp.
and J.M.S. Land and -Development Corp. in .the -sum of' $12, 000.00, and
WEE REAS,the said principals have made application to the Southold
Town ',Planning Board, Southold, N.Y. for 'the approval --of a plot known
as- Eastern Shores III, and
WHEREAS, Southold Planning Board has granted approval of the afore-
mentioned. Plotsubject to the filing of the Bond,
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED: That the condition of, this obligation
is such that if the said principal shall, during the period of one
(1) yea:r from date of this Bond, will and-truly keep and in every
respect comply with and. conform to the provisions of the 'Town Law
and the subdivisions regulations of the Southold Planning Board and
make or .cause to be made the improvements oh-'the streets and other
. facilities required by the Southold Town Planning 'Board and shall
pay, make good and reimburse the obligee for. all loss and damages .
which it 'may..sustain by reason .of failure on the part of the princ-
ipals to complete the improvements and facilities on the streets,,
then this- -obligation is Void,. .otherwi-se' to remain..in full- force
and effect, and be ft further
RESOLVED: That the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner
of executi6h. and sufficiency of sureties therein.

NOW, THEREFORE, ,.BE .IT RESOLVED: That :Supervisor Lester M. Albertson
be and he hereby is 'authorized to contribute half of. the_•total .cost
up. to' but not to exceed�the .sum of ,$475 .00 toward :the. cost ,of dredg-
ing the entrance of Cedar .Beach Channel,: Southold, New York..

closed to the public from 900 P.M. until- 8 A.M. every dayand that
a sign be erected to that effect.

WHEREAS, thereafter. the Town,Board receivedbids. ,from Hubbard and:
Floyd Equipment Co. , Ehrbar..& .Co. , and H.O.. Penn:'Co. , ,and
WHEREAS, the. bid of Hubbard and Floyd Equipment Co. was the lowest
bid but said bid 'did not meet the specifications,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the bid of Hubbard & Floyd
Equipment Co. be rejected for the reason that the same is not.' in
conformity with the specifications, and be .it further
RESOLVED: That the bid of Edward Ehrbar be ..and the same hereby is
,accepted with steel tires and the Supervisor be and hereby -is, :
authorized and-directed to -enter. into a contract with Edward Ehrbar
for the purchase of a tractor at a total net cost- of $33, 384.00 in"
conformity with the specifications therefor.

to remove the present light on LILCO pole #334 on Jockey Creek
Drive, Southold, N.Y. and place it on NYTCO..pole #716 also-, .on
Jockey Creek Drive, . .Southold, N.Y. in the Southold Light District.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the zmount of $5,791.82; Lighting
District .Bills in the amount of $3,408.49;. Fishers- Island Ferry ,
District Bills in the amount of $11, 922.63 and Highway Bills.-.in
the anount of $3,824.35. be and the same are hereby grdered paid. .

WHEREAS,the summer of 1.965- was. designated . and set aside as. a
"Summer. of. History" to commemorate. the 325.th: anniversary of the .
founding of .Southold, .Town, and
WHEREAS, .'through the careful planning of the Anniversary Committee
and the cooperation of other .citizeris and- organizations in setting .
the Program of Events which so suitably marked this special milestone
in our Town' s..history; and
WHEREAS,= due' to the dedicated- work- of so:many of our townspeople, the
celebration afforded -opportunity to all, to participate in the planned
educational, cultural and ,social activities .of our .communityv- and
WHEREAS,, the nuinerous congratulatory messages and well wishes from
many of our out-of-town friends were most .heartening, to receive, and
WHEREAS, the success of this celebration has been• of. inestilaable
benefit to the .Town: of Southold and its, citizens,-.-.
NOW, THEREFORE,.: BE IT RESOLVED: That, now, at the close •of this
period of commemorative observance, the .sincere-st .thanks of this
Board be !expressed to all for a most-'enjoyable "Summer of. History" .
