MEETING OF MARCH 23, 1965
The Southold Town Board met at the office of the, Supervisor, Lester
M.. .Albertson, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, .March 23, 1965. The
meeting was called to order at 3:00 P�.M._'wiith the following present:
Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices
Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Supt. of Highways Price
and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman .Valentine',-
RESOLVED: That the minutes of March 9, 1965 be and hereby are duly
approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson;' Councilmen Demarest

Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That the next regular meeting. ;of the Town. Board will be
held at the office of the Supervisor, Lester. M, Albertson, 16 South
Street; Greenport; New York, on Tuesday, April 6, 1965, at' 3: 00 P.M.

WHEREAS, a law bid of $6619.00 received from Southold Dodge in' response
to a request for bids for the purchase of. One new 1965 International
Model _R 192 Dump truck (or equal) did not meet" the. specifications
as advertised- 'by the ' Supt. of Highways of the Town of Southold, in
that the motor was a high speed 8 cylinder heavy duty truck motor
with less HP -And less cu. 'in; Disc. , did not have removable. sleeves
and had a 13" clutch instead' of a 141, clutch as requested in the
advertisement for bids .and therefor was not equal to the specificat- .
ions as advertised,
NOW, THEREFORE, ' BE IT RESOLVED.- That pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law the Town' Supt. of Highways is authorized to purchase
from the'Tryac Truck _and Equipment Co.,::>,Inc. , Riverhead, . N.tf. and in
accordance with the provisions of Article 5-A of- the General Munic-
ipal Law, with the approval of the County Supt. of Highways the
following: '
One J(1) ':new 1965 Internatio nal Model R 192 as. per attached specif-
ications_ for .a. maximum' price of 47793-.0.0 delivered to Peconic, L.I.
not- later thah'April 15-, 1965.

WHEREAS, North Fork Bank & Trust Co. holds in safekeeping with'

;Supervisor, Towh of Southold, $50, 000 U.S. Treasury Bonds 3 7/8
due May- 15', 1968, and
WfiEREAS, the North Fork Bank & Trust Co:- proposes to sell this- Bond
and to buy a like amount of U.S. Treasury Notes 4% due Nov. 11, 1966
which will be pledged to secure deposit of the Supervisor, Town of
Southold, `
RESOLVED: That this Board approves of said action by the North Fork ,
Bank and' Trust Company.

RESOLVED: That this Board approves the appointment of George Van

is authorized -and :directed to 'execute on behalf of the Board the

WHEREAS, John C. Tuthill has applied to the Town Board fora single -

Mattituck, N.Y. to locate a single trailer on his own property, Elijah
Lane, Mattituck, be and hereby is granted for occupancy for a period
of six (6) months.

WHEREAS, Barbara Dittmann has applied to the Town Board for a .single

NOW,` THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Barbara" Dittmann
'to" locate a single trailer on property of Arlene Dittmann be and the
same is hereby denied.

`Robert Sey appeared before the Town Board requesting that more. fill
be "removed from Deep Hole creek. The 'Supervisor "advised -hiM' that he
'would contact the County. .
At 3:30 P.M. in accordance with a notice published according. to law,.
bids were opened for purchase of 75,000, gallons of 'special grade
gasoline. The following bids were submitted: ' AGWAY - Bid is a discount
of' .0705 'per ' gallon of the posted consumers Torch Wagon price.. The
posted price, excluding state and federal taxes is .2l per gallon.
Therefore, with the discount, this makes a delivered price today
of .1395 per gallon.

for the period from 'April. l, '1965. to March-- 30, 1966.
The following bids were submitted:
Vail Brothers--------- $ 19.00 each.
Agway-----=-----------Reg. $18.72 and Snow $19.64.
The bids were held for further study.
Mrs. Worth appeared before the Board requesting that the water on
her property :be eliminated.. The Supervisor informed her that they
would''investigate the situation this afternoon.

WHEREAS, Irving Miller, Public Accountant, retained by the Town, has
audited the accounts of all the departments under Section 105 of .the
Town Law and has found them to be correct,

requires the services of an attendant for Elizabeth Airport, - Fishers
Island, N.Y. ,
