The Southold Town Board mat at the .office of Supervisor Lester M.
Albertson at Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, -January 5, .1965.. The.
meeting was called to order at 3: 00 P.M.. with the following present:

RESOLVED: That the minutes of the..Special meeting of December,/ 1964,
be and' hereby are duly approved.

WHEREAS, it is required by Section 67, Subdivision 1 of' the .Social
Welfare Law that the Town Board shall appoint a Public Welfare` Officer
or 'authorize t'he Supervisor of the Town to act as such official, .now,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Lester M. Albertson, Supervisor, 'be
and he hereby is authorized to act as Public Welfare Officer at- the
pleasure of the Town Board and be it further
RESOLVED: That Lester M. Albertson. serve in such. capacity withotit -
compensation, and be it further-
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk. be instructed to file such certificate
with the proper parties as is required by Section 30, Subdivision 3
of "the Town Law. `

Town of Southold, be and they hereby are fixed at $1100.00 per year,
with. the exception of the Chairman of the Board of Appeals, whose.
salary shall be and hereby is fixed at $1200.00 per year, and be it

RESOLVED:. That the members of the Board .of Appeals and the Chairman
of the Board of Appeals be paid these -salaries for their. respective'
offices and that these salaries' be paid in regular monthly payments,
and be it further
RESOLVED: . That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificates

of the Town Law.

WHEREAS, _.Section 22B of the' Town Law allows the Town Board of any
Town having more than. one assessor to establish the office of `Chairman
of .Town Assessors, who, in addition to his regular duties, shall per-
form such services in connection with assessment and taxation of prop-
erty for state, county and Town purposes as the Town Board shall direct,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:. That .Albert Martocchia be and hereby
is. designated to hold the office of Chairman of the Town Board of
Assessors until the' first day of January next succeeding such desig=
nation, all in accordance with''Section ,22B``of the Town Law', and be
it further
. RESOLVED: That compensation for* such appointment be fixed, at $2600.00
per year, payable _ in regular monthly payments.

the Planning Board be paid these salaries for their respective- offices
and that these salaries be paid in regtzlar monthly payments,- -and be it

of the' Town Law.

.WHEREAS, it is required that an `enforcement officer be appointed for
the Multiple Residence Law of the Town of Southold, now, -therefore, -
be it 'RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry be and" he- hereby is' appointed' ,
enforcement officer for Multiple Residence Law for a term of one year
commencing January -1, 1965 and "expiring December 31, 1965., and be it
further
RESOLVED: .That the salary be and hereby is fixed at the ' sum of $2200.00
per year ..payable in regular monthly .payments. during said term and
that such position be held at the pleasure of the Town Board unless
otherwise provided by law, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate
with the proper parties as is required by Section 30,-' Subdivision 3
of the Town Law.

WHEREAS, it is required that an enforcement officer 'be appointed for
Building Inspector for the enforcement of the Buillding Zone Ordinance
of the Town of Southold,, now, therefore,, be' it
RESOLVED: That Howard M.' Terr.y be and he hereby is appointed enforce-
ment officer 'of said Building Zone Ordinance for a term of' one year,
commencing January 1, 1965 and expiring December 310 1965, and 'be-'it
further RESOLVED: That the salary be and hereby .is fixed at the sum
of $4000.00 per. year,, payable in regular .monthly payments during- said
term and that such position be held at the pleasure of the Town Board
unless otherwise provided by law,. and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be - instructed" to file such certificate
with the proper parties as is required by Section 30 Subdivision 3 . ._

WHEREAS, Section 64 of the Town Law requires the Town Board to desig-.
nate by resolution Banks in the State inwhich the Supervisor or any
other officer of the Town 'shall deposit ..all monies Coming into their
hands by virtue of their offices, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board `may. requir6c,,any Bank so designated" to-"deposit
with such .Board the Bonds or certificates of the United States of 'the
State of New York, or any County, Town, ' City,. Village or .School Dist-
rict of the State of New York, as. security for ''such funds so deposit-
ed but sucli Bonds or Certificates shall be subject to the apprdval-

the publication of all notices,, resolutions, ordinances and other
matters required by law to be published, and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Long Island Traveler Mattituck Watchman, a newspaper
published in the Town of Southold be and the same_.hereby "is designated
as an additional newspaper for the publication of such notices, ' res01-

sent the Town of Southold at the Annual meeting of the Association of
Towns of the State of New York. to be held in New York City, N.Y. on
February 8, 9 and 10, 1965 and to cast the vote: of the .aforesaid Town.
pursuant to Section 6 of Article III of'.the Constitution and by -laws,
of said Association and be .it further
RESOLVED: That Howard C. Valentine be designated as Alternate to cast
the vote of said Town at the Annual meeting of the Association of Town
of the State of New York, in the absence of Supervisor Lester Albertson.

RESOLVED: That the necessary registration. fees not in excess of $10..00
and all actual and: necessary- expenses .of. travel., meals and lodging
incurred in connection with attendance of such meeting shall be a legal

($500.00) = during the period January 1, 1965 to December 31, 1965 .

in the amount of $600.00 per. year, payable .in .regular monthly payments

WHEREAS, the Town of .Southold entered into an -option agreement-- ith:
Elizabeth Olsen, dated October. l,. 1964 wher.eby,the .Town of, Southold: was
given the option-'to purchase premises at New. Suffolk,: more, fully described
in said..agreement, which: option will expire ,on January 15, 1965:,. and,
WHEREAS, the Town of Southold desires to exercise said. option and::to
purchase the premises described .therein under the terms and .conditons
described therein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town of Southold hereby exercises
said option, and it is further

RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and direct-
ed. to send the written notice of the Town' s election to exercise said
option in the manner prescribed in said option agreement,'..and to execute,
acknowledge and deliver all other documents and instruments necessary
for the acquisition of said. real property.

RESOLVED: That the Commissioner-Treasurer of the Garbage. & Refuse
District, Fishers Island, New York, shall deposit all monies coming
into his hands as such Commissioner-Treasurer in the following Bank:
Valley National Bank of Long Island, Main St. , Greenport, N.Y.
Said Bank shall not be required to pledge security. -

RESOLVED: - That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson contact the Army Engineers
and request the necessary repairs to the Federal 'owned. racks at
Fishers Island, New York.

for this part-time .position, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That Lewis G. Holden be engaged as purser and compensated
at the rate of $1.50 per hour, and be it further
RESOLVED: That subject appointment be effective as of January 5, 1965 .

ways at .Greenport, New York, Town of Southold, to be known as SUTTON
PLACE and McCANN LANE, "being more 'fully. described- in said petitin,
together with releases executed by the owners thereof ; and
WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has inspected said highways- and .has
advised the Town Board. that said proposed highways comply in all respect
to, the specifications for the dedication .of highways in the Town of
Southold' except the assessed valuation which Supt. of Highways-price
requested waived' so the highway equipment could go through wit-hout 'a
turn-around,
NOW, -THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That in accordance with Section �171
of .the Highway Law of the State of' New-�York, consent be and the same
is hereby given to the Supt. of Highways to make: an order laying- out
