Albertson, at Greenport, New York, with the following present: Super- visor Albertson.; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices . Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond. The Hearing on the Preliminary Budget for 1967 was opened by . the Supervisor at '3 :00 P.M. and the minutes were taken by Barbara Dittmann. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold, N.Y. has met .at the time and place specified in' 'the notice of public hearing on the Pre- liminary Budget and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Southold does hereby adopt such 'Preliminary Budget as originally com- piled as th Annual Budget of* this" Town for the fiscal year beginning the 1st day of January, 1967 and that such Budget as so adopted be entered in detail in the minutes of the proceedings of this Town Board, and be it further RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold shall prepare and certify, in duplicate, copies of said annual budget as adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Southold, together with the estimates. . if any, adopted pursuant to Section 202-A, Subdivision 2 of the Town Law and deliver one copy thereof to the Supervisor of .this Town -.to be ,presented by him to the Boakd of Supervisors of the County of Suffolk. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That the Town Board accept the following agreement between the Town Board of Southold Town and the Village of Greenport, Suffolk County, regarding the East-West Fire Protection District Hydrants : ` Agreement made this loth day- of October, 1966, retroactive to .Julyl,. 1966, between the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, hereinafter designated' as the Town, and the Village of Green- ,port,' Suffolk County, New York, hereinafter designated as the Village. WITNESSETH WHEREAS, by an agreement dated July 1, 1961, the parties .hereto contract- ed for the furnishing;- by the Village of water for fire protection pur- 4 3 poses in that part of the East-West fire protection district in the Town wherein the mains are installed, and WHEREAS, the contract, by its terms expired July lst, 1966, and WHEREAS, the parties are agreed upon the terms of a renewal of said contract, NOW, THEREFOR,, in consideration of the premises and the convenants herein, it is `m�tually agreed as follows : 1) the amount to be paid to the Village for making an adequate supply of water available and placing -and maintaining hydrants shall be $65 per hydrant, per year, 2) this agreement shall continue for a period of five and one-half' years ending on December 31st; 1971. 3) there are in existance as oftthis date ninety-seven (97) such hydrants.- and any hydrants added during the term of this contract shall be paid for proportionately at the rate of $65 per hydrant per year for such time as such newly added hydrants are in operation upon ,the joint-approval of the Town and Village Boards. 4) in all other respects, the said agreement dated July lst, 1961 is ratified and confirmed. IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties have caused these presents to be signed in two counterparts, either ,of which may be considered as an original, by their duly authorized officers the day, and year first above mentioned. Albertson be and he hereby is . authorized to contact the State- Traffic Commission for a study of the above mentioned highways: Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor 'Albertson; Councilmen Demarest . and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the Town Board be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island .Lighting Company to place one (.1) MVOH street light on Pole #23 LILCO on the corner of Colony Road and Albertson Lane, Southold, N.Y. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request_ the Long Island Lighting Company to remove the present light on NYTCO pole #12 Factory Avenue, Mattituck, N.Y. and replace it with 175 MVOH street light. McLeod of 712 Vauxhall -Street, Ext. , Waterford, Conn. has applied for the position and had held this position in 1963- 64-65, and WHEREAS, Fishers Island Ferry District requests permission to,hire Wallace A. McLeod as Relief Purser, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ,RESOLVED: That the Town Board approves the action of the, Fishers Island Ferry District in hiring Wallace A. McLeod. as Relief, Purser effective, as of Nov. l; 1966, . and be it further RESOLVED:, Tha.t. Wa_ llace A. McLeod be compensated at the rate. of. $1. 50_ per hour.
