HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-09/20/1966 303 MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 20, 1966. The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on September 20, 1966. The meeting was called to order at 3 :00 P.M. with 'the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the minutes of the September 6, 1966 .meeting and the minutes of the special meeting of September 10, 1966 be and they here- by are approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes- Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine';- Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest;, - seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at .the `office of ,the' Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y., on -Tuesday, October 4, 1966 at3 :00 P.M. . Vote -of Town Board: 'Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen .Demarest and Valentine; Justifies Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice -Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, -Southold" American Legion, G.T.G. Post #603 , Southold, New' ' York, applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License amendment, and WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after in- vestigation duly made findings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: ' That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Board the findings and determinatio-hs required by law, and it is further RESOLVED; That the Town Clerk-be -and he hereby is directed to issue an amended Bingo License to the Southold American Legion, G.T:G. Post #803, Southold, New York, Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, John -C. Tuthill has applied to the Town Board fora single trailer -renewal permit, dated September 9, 1966, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT• RESOLVED: -That the application of John C. Tuthill, Mattituck, New York,, -be and hereby is, granted for occupancy for a period of six (6) months. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice; Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Demarest;- WHEREAS-, Mable Miles has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated September 20, 1966, 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Mable Miles to . locate a single trailer on her property, Private Road, Mattituck, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for a six (6) month period. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine', Justices Tuthill and Clark. At 3 :00 P.M. in accordance with a notice published according to law, bids were opened for proposals to furnish to the Town of Southold, 1001000 gallons of special grade gasoline for the use of the Southold Town Police -Department and Highway department. The following bids were submitted: Agway - 171-2(� per gallon on todays price R. A. McCullum - 13. 37� per gallon Moved by Councilmn Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, R. A. McCullum., Socony Mobil, was the lowest bidder for the 100, 000 gallons of special grade gasoline, RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is directed to enter into a contract with R. A. McCullum, Socony Mobil, for the purchase of 100, 000 gallons or as much as is required of 304 special grade gasoline at' the price of 13. 37 cents per gallon for the use. of the Southold Town Police and Highway departments as per bid submitted. Vote of Town Board: .Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by -Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, be and he hereby is authorized to purchase .a new Remington Standard Typewriter at a cost of $205. 00 for the use by the Tax Receiver. Vote of Town Board: , Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman\Valentine; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board release the Bond #5.6-77-140 for $13, 000, Eastern Shores, Section II, as recommended by the South- old Town Planning Board for the completion of roads in the Subdiv- ision to be known. as Eastern Shores, Section II;=. Greenport, New York, owned and developed byHT Land and development Corp. Terry, for, the month of August, 1966, be accepted by the Town Board and . placed -'on file. Clark; RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk, Albert Richmond, be and he hereby is requested to contact the State Traffic Commission to . survey traffic conditions for lower speed limit on all roads . in Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, N.Y. Moved by Ju:stic'e 'Tuthil.l; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, requests were received from the residents and property .owners of Fisher Road, New Suffolk, for a change of name of said -road to Fanning Road, and WHEREAS, the Board acted upon said request, NOW, -THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Fishers Road, New Suffolk, L.I. New York, shall be heeeafter known as Fanning Road. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill -and Clark. Moved 'by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill : WHEREAS, Fishers Island Ferry District requested permission to. advertise for bide to construct ramps and boat dockage at. Fishers Island and New London, Conn. , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board grant theftrequest of the Fishers Island Ferry District to advertise for kids for ramps and boat dockage at Fishers Island, N.Y. and New London, Conn.
