The meeting was reconvened at the Supervisor' s Office, 16 South
Street, Greenport, New York, on the 7th day of April, 1966 .
Moved by, Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
WHEREAS, this Board believes that it is in the interest of the Town
.. - .- .. ,
of Southold that a new. town hall be constructed, and .
WHEREAS, it is necessary in order to accomplish-. said purpose that
an architect be retained to prepare the necessary plans and also
to advise this Board with respect to all matters incident thereto,;
and
WHEREAS, the firm of Francisco and Jacobus, architects and engineers,
of 2 West 45th . Street, New York, New York, has conferred with this
Board and submitted its proposal for architectural and engineering
services for . said, proposed Town Hall,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the firm of Francisco and Jacobus
be and they hereby are retained as architects and engineers to per-
form the following services, to wit:
1) Necessary conferences and meetings with ,the
Supervisor, the Town Board and other town
officials, to establish a program of re-
quirements to satisfy the town'' s' present
and future needs.
2) Examine proposed sites and assist in their
evaluation, considering such problems as
access, suitability and . soil conditions. .
3) Preparation of directives for surveys.
4) preparation of schematic designs,' which
define the essential character and scope
of the project and include sketches of
floor plans, site layout and exterior appear=
ances,
and it is further
RESOLVED,, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and
directed .to ,enter. into contract with the firm of Francisco and
Jacobus for the per of the .above specified services, said
contract to be,,in a form acceptable to the Town Attorney.
