RESOLVED:" That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to 'install 'the 'following:
1. Two - (2.) `_ 100, cp overhead street lights on Grathwohl Road; "New
Suffolk; on LILCO Poles #32 and 34.
2. One (1) 175 MV street light on the corner of Route 27A and Depot
Lane, Cutchogue, on, Pole ##137.
3 . One (1) , 175 MV street light on the' corner of Route 27A and Alvah' s
Lane, Cutchogue, N.Y, on NYTCO Pole 4114.
. 4. One (1) -175, MV street light at the' east end of the "new County
Road on Pole #205 LILCO.

RESOLVED That the minutes of January' 25, 1966 ,be and :they hereby are
approved.

WHEREAS,. this .Board, by. order adopted November - 23, 1965, directed .
that,Blount Marine, Shipbuilders and Naval- Architects,,. prepare plans
and specifications and proposed contract ..for the construction of a
new ferry boat for the Fishers Island-Ferry District, in the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County,.. New York,.. and
WFE REAS, said plans and specifications .and, form .of constract have been
so prepared and examined `by this Board,
NOW, THEREFORE,_ BE .IT RESOLVED: That this Board does .hereby approve
said plans ,and 'specifications and form of contract, and' doe's hereby
authorize and direct the- Board of Commissioners of the -Fishers
Island"Ferry District to .,advertise for bids' for the construction of
the said. ferry "boat -in accordance with said plans, _specifications and
form of contract.

At 3 P.M. in accordance with 'a notice published according to. law,
bids were opened for proposals to the Town of Southold. for. three
(3) new mobile -radios for use in Town. Police cars, radios to be
installed and three (3) Motorola radios to. be taken in trade. only.
one bid was received: "Motorola $2, 285.25. The bid was held -for .
study and information. .

RE80LVED: That there be appropriated annually an amount not to exceed
$500.00 for the purpose of defraying .the.. expense's o`f the proper
observation of Independence Day, Memorial" or Decoration Day and.._
Veterans Day, in such• proportion- as,. the Town Board .may determine,
and it is further
RESOLVED: That this resolution shall be subject to "a permissive
referendum.

RESOLVED: That thera be appropriated annually an amount not to
exceed $7500.00 for the establishment of a publicity fund for
the purpose of advertising the Town of Southold pursuant to the
provisions of Section 64", Subdivision 14 of the Town Law, and it
is further
RESOLVED: That this resolution shall be subject to a permissive
referendum.

WHEREAS, Judith Boken has requested a leave of absence from duties
in the Assessors Office from 2/8/66°:`)to 2/28/66 without, pay,
NOW, -THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Judith`Boken be granted this
request.

RESOLVED: That Mildred Chapman be and hereby is 'granted vacation "
time' from 3/7/66 to 3/25/66 -which includes the usual two weeks
vacation and one week of overtime accumulated during printing of
tax bills.

WHEREAS, the' Town Board received a request-'relative to Home- Rule
which the Town of Babylon has- asked to be introduced in the, State
Legislature repealing Paragraph 21-A Subdivision 64 of the -Town
Law in order that a Department of Public Works established 'in any
Town in Suffolk County will be under the administrative supervision
'-- and direction of a Commissioner of Public Works rather than under
town -superintendent of Highways,
RESOLVED: -That the Town -Board feels this change would not be
advantageous to the Town of Southold -at this time.

and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $10, 255 .29; Fishers
Island Ferry District -Bills in the amount of $35,413,.41; Lighting
District bills in the- amount -of $.19, 309.-23 and -Highway Bills -in
the :amount of, $5 576 55 be and the same are hereby ordered paid.- --

Letters received by the Town Board included- the following:
Old Cove-"Yacht Club- for assistance in- removing a wreck.

Mattituck Chamber of Commerce- thanking the Town Board -for the
dredging in the Mattituck Area.
Conservation Department -relative- to the agreement for a ramp at
Gull'-Pond. :
