Albertson, at Greenport, New York, on April 4, 1967 with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintor,- dent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clam; RESOLVED: That the minutes of March 27 , 1967 be and they hereby are approved. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and C]a-k. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M.. Albertson, 16 South Street, Green- port, New York, on Tuesday, April 18, 1967 at 3 :00 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. \ 1 Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the following resolution be placed in the minutes : WHEREAS, in honor of the Secretary, the week of April 23-29, 1967 has been designated as Secretary' s Week, and WHEREAS] in keeping with the best traditions of their professions, secretaries are accepting vital responsibilities and are performing important roles in commerce, and government, and WHEREAS, the efforts of these skilled office workers are usually taken for granted and their contributions to the nations progress are unrecognized, and WHEREAS, to honor the secretaries now doing their jobs diligently and to encourage others to enter this worthy career, it is essential that rightful recognition be given them, NOW, THEREFORE, I, LESTER M. ALBERTSON, Supervisor', Town of Southold, do hereby declare the week of April 23-29, 1967 , Secretaries Week and ask that all businesses and industry join in giving due recognit= ion to this group paying special attention to Secretaries Day on April 26,- 1967. ` Vote of Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Tuthill; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Albertson be and hereby is authorized to sign necessary contract for wharfage at New Suffolk for the Town Police Boat. Edgar Worthington has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated March 31, i967, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of W. Edgar Worthington to locate a single trailer on his property at Sound Avenue, Mattituck, N.Y. be and the same is granted for a six (6) month period. Tuthill has applied to -the Town Board for a - single trailer renewal permit dated March 1967, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of John C. Tuthill Mattituck, N.Y. FtOR 'a trailer be granted for a period of six (6) months. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine ; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill; WHEREAS, THE County of Suffolk owns and operates a dredge and other equipment suitable for dredging channels and depositing fill on des- ignated- areas , and WHEREAS, the Town of Southold has requested that the said dredge be used in connection with the dredging `of Goose Creek, Town of Southold, as shown on the accompanying maps and specifications, and WHEREAS, the Supervisor of the Town of Southold by resolution duly adopted by the Town Board' of said Town of Southold has been author ized and directed to sign for and on behalf of the Town of Southold assurances to the County of Suffolk, that the said Town of Southold will perform all acts required to be performed by said Town in conn- ection with the preparation for the dredging operation as af�.aresaid and obtaining of all necessary easements and rights of way for said dredging operation and use of areas indicated on the attached map for spoil area's together with all necessary rights incidental to said dredging operation; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the benefits to the Town of Southold, as aforesaid, the Town of Southold—hereby assures the County of Suffolk that it will: (a) Furnish, free of cost to the County of Suffolk, all lands , ease-' ments, rights of way and spoil disposal areas necessary for the new work and subsequent maintenance when and if required for the dredging ope:Liations at GOOSE CREEK all as shown on the attached map, and (b) Hold and save the Connty of Suffolk free from any claims or damages resulting from said improvement or resulting in any way from the said dredging operation or the use of equipment at the said GOOSE CREEK, or use of any spoil area or any other area affected by said dredging operation. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have set my hand and seal of the Town of Southold, on this 4th day of April 1967. Lester M. Albertson, Supervisor. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Counilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and .Clark. ` Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, the County of Suffolk proposes to dredge certain areas of GOOSE CREEK U the Town of Southold which dredging will be performed by County owned dredging equipment at a nominal cost to the Town of Southold, and WHEREAS, in order to accomplish said dredging, plans, specifications, agreements and other documents must be executed on behalf of the Town of Southold, now therefoe, .be it RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town of Southold, all necessary plans and specific- ations, spoil area agreements, assurances to the County of Suffolk, license and/or dredging permit applications to Federal and State Agencies and all .other documents that may be required to accomplish said dredging work.. c Vote of Town Board: . Moved by .Jus.tic.e Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; ` RESOLVED: That this recommendation from the Eastern, Long Island Hospital be spread ,upon the minutes of the Town of Southold: It was unanimously voted by the Members of the Medical Staff that since trained and licensed personnel are now available and there is an on-call physician .available . to .the Hospital at all times; that these personnel should have the authorizty and be directed to cause the victims tobe transported immediately to the hospital regardless of the extent of injuries or eondition .of the patient, rather than having a Dostor appear at the scene. This should .save valuable time. This method is being used in most areas throughout the state and .has been proven to be in the best interest of the patient' s survival. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Supervisor of the Town of Southold instruct the Police Department to follow. the instructions of the above recommendation of the members of the Medical Staff. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a contract with Ralph T. Preston Inc. for the rebuilding of the bulkhead at the end of West Road, Fleet' s Neck, . Cutchogue, N.Y. , the sum not to exceed $2450.00. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Albertson be and he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids for one (1) second hand Jeep (or equal) for use by the Southold Town Bay Constable. Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill; RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $12 , 195 . 31; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $11,429. 94; Highway Bills in the amount of $28, 221. 20 and Lighting District Bills in the amount of $3, 720.60 be and they hereby are ordered paid. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill? RESOLVED: 'That #9 and #12 of the Highway Specifications are hereby amended to read as, follows : # 9. Six inches of Bank Run Base Material with a gravel content `of 20% or more will be installed below the . finished grade of the road section if the existing material is not satisfactory, and shall be free of all vegetable matter. # 12 . After the highway. area has been properly !graded, rolled and shaped to the approval of the Superintendent of Highways , the thirty- two (32) foot section in the center of the highway area (hereinafter referred to as the "road section") shall be stabilized with' an applic- ation of three (3) gallons of MC-250 (bituminous cut back) per square yard mixed to a depth of six (6) inches applied in TWO (2) separate applications . Within two (2) months , and not less than one (1) month` after stabilization, the road section shall be rolled and properly prepared and an application of one-half ;(Z) gallon of ' RC-250 (bitum- inous cut back)= per square yard shall be applied with sufficient sand to absorb the excess oil. In case of dry weather, the sub-grade shall be wet-down before the application of oil,: Before the Yjighway is accepted by the Town of Southold, the Superintendent of Highways` will examine the same and thereafter a final application of . 3 gallons of RC-250 (Bituminous cut back) per square yard shall be applied and shall be covered with three-eighths- (3/8ths) inch blue stone, which shall be rolled with 'a roller having a minmmum.weight of five (5) tons . Where curbs are installed,.. the roa'd' section shall be deemed to be the .entire area within the ,curbs.
