The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor "Lester M. Albert-
son, 16 -8outh Street, •Greenport, New York, on July 16, 1968, at 3 :00 P.M.
with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Suter and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent
of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of the Supervisor, Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport,
on Tuesday, July 30, 1968.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark. and Suter. I -

RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of July 2, 1968, be and they
hereby are approved.

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board will accept -a Bond of $47,000
as recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board for the completion of
roads in the subdivision known as Yennecott Park, Southold, N.Y, developed
by Donald and Lorna Tuthill, Sottholdy N.Y.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Jusitces Clark and Suter.

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board will accept a Bond of $28, 000 as
recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board for the water mains in
the subdivision known as Yennecott Park, , Southold, N.Y. developed by
Donald and Lorna Tuthill, Southold, N.Y. ,

RESOLVED: That the following resolution passed by. the Town Board on
May 28, 1968, be and hereby is rescinded:
RESOLVED: That, Frederick, Fiedler, Jr. , Southold, N.Y, be and he hereby is
appointed provisional Police Patrolman of the Town of Southold, he to serve
at the pleasure of the Town Board, unless otherwise provided for, and be
it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for this position be fixed at $5800.00 per
year, payable biweekly, said appointment to be effective when recruit
school session starts.

Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED:, That Frederick Fiedler, Jr. , Southold, N.Y. be and he hereby
is, appointed Police Patrolman of the Town of Southold for a probationary
period of one year following the date the appointment becomes effective-,
and be it -further - ,
RESOLVED: That Frederick Fiedler, Jr. will serve in the capacity of Police
Patrolman. of the Town of Southold at the pleasure of the Town Board, unless
otherwise provided for, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period be fixed
at $5800.00 per year, payable bi-weekly and that the appointment, take
effect on July 20, 1968.

A letter was. received from Russell Tabor and Sons, Orient, N.Y. request-
ing the withdrawal of a petition for change of zone from "A"- Residential
and Agricul rah. District to "B" Business District on certain property in
Orient, N.Y. , said petition found in the minutes of March 12, 1968.

WHEREAS, a new ,petition was received from .Russell .Tabor & Sons, requesting
a change of zone of certain property. in Orient, N:Y, described in .said
petition from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to . "B" Business
District and "B-2" Business District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:_ That the town of the Town of Southold be
and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning
Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision .0 of Article IX of the
Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold,

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the Fishers
Island Ferry District in _granting, raises in pay making their wages amount
to, the following:

J. Pickett, Wharfage----=-------------- 3.00 per hour
Thomas A. Murphy, Attendant--------------- 85.00 per week
C. J. Marshall, Relief Purser------------- 2.00 per hour

RESOLVED: That Lester M. Albertson,, Supervisor, Martin Suter, Justice and
Henry Clark, Justice, be and they hereby are appointed as a negotiating
team to work with the C.S .E.A. Unit under the Taylor Act. , Town of .Southold.

Valentine; Justices .Clark .and Suter.

RESOLVED: That Lester A% lbertson, Supervisor, Howard ;Valentine, Councilman
and Louis Demarest, Councilman, b.e. an� they hereby are- appointed as a
negotiating team to work with the Police Unit under the Taylor Act.

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board approves the action of the, Fisheers
Island Ferry District in granting George Farley, Shipmate, $5 .00 per hour
for .forty hours., and time and one half for excess_ of forty hours.

RESOLVED: That the reports of Police and Bay Constable for the month of

WHEREAS, H.. J. S . Land and Development Corporation., . Char.les W.. Morgan,
Treasurer, has made application to the Town Board to -dedicate certain
roads in Eastern Shores, Greenport, N.Y. namely: All that. portion of West-
wood Lane extending. northerly from its }ntersection- with. Inlet Pond Road
to Sound Drive. and all of Sound Drive, Map of Eastern Shor.es, Greenport,
N.Y. Section II., more fully described in. said pet}tion, together with .
releases executed by, the owners thereof, and.
WHEREAS,. the. Highway Superintendent has ..inspected the said highways .and
has advised the Town Board that said proposed highways, comply ,in all res-
pects with the specifications .for the. dedication of. highways in. the Town
of Southold,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That. in accordance with Section 171 of
Highway Law of the- State of New York., consent be.. and the same is. given
to- the Superintendent of ,Highways to-, make an- order laying out- the aforesaid
highways to consist of lands described in said. application,.- and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the, Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorize
and directed to forthwith cause ,the dedication and release and deed to be
recorded in the office of the. Clerk of the County of Suffolk, N.Y.

applied to the Town 'Clerk for a Bingo License, and ,
WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after investig-
ation duly made findings and determinnations as required by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor .be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Bard the find-
ings and determinations as required by law, and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a
Bingo License to• the Marian. Council #3852, Cutchogue, .N.Y.

RESOLVED: That the starting salary ,of .the ,Life Guards, Town of Southold,
N.Y.. be and hereby is set at $1.85 per hour and _increase fifteen cents
per hour each year, not to exceed four years.

. RESOLVED: -That the salary of Thomas ByrnesJL Sr. , relief radio operator,
be and hereby is increased from $2 .00 to $2.50 per hour.

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
WHEREAS, Henry Horton by petition verified the 24th day of April, 1968,
petitioned the- Town Board for a change of zone of certain real property
described ,in said petition from "A" Residential and Agricultural, District
to "B" Business District, ,and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board has filed it' s official report with the Town
,Board, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board, pursuant to due notice thereof, held a hearing
thereon on the 21st day of June, 1968, at ehich time. all interested
persons were given an opportunity to ,be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the relief demanded in said petition
of Henry Horton be ana the same i§ in alL.respects denied.

WHEREAS, Anna and Mario Zanghetti, Fishers Island, N.Y.. by petition
verified the 31st day of January, 1968, petitioned the Town Board for a
change ,of- zone of certain property described in said petition from "A"
Residential and Agricultural District, to "B" Business District., and
WHEREAS- the said-. petition was ,referred to the Planning Boardfor its
official recommendation and report, -- and
WHEREAS, the' Town 'Board, pursuant to .due notice thereof, held a hearing
thereon on the. 18th day of-. June, 1968, at which time all interested persons
were given an opportunity to be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Building Zone
Ordinance; including the Building Zone maps, be amended from ."A." Resident-
ial and_ Agricultural District to "B" Business District on the following
described property:
BEGINNING at a point,on the woutherly line of the road known
as the Gloaming at a merestone whch, is located 1165.34
feet north and 38.52 feet west of U.S . Coast and Geodetic
Triangulation Station "PROS" and from said point running
.south 340 41' 00" East one hundred seventy-two and 1/10
(172. 1 feet to a point on a boulder; thence running north
82 850 19 ' 00" East about sixty three and 00/100 (63.00)
feet to the shore of the Cove, the last two lines abutting
southwesterly and southerly'. on the property of J. Przborski,
thence running in a general northeasterly direction along
the shores of the Cove sixty-six and one half ' .(6620 feet;
thence running north 230 28 ' 00" west about one hundred
eighteen (118) feet 'to a merestone on ohr southerly
side of the Gloaming abutting northeasterly on the prop-
erty of R. Erpenbeck; 'thence south 800 26 ' 00:' west
along the southerly line of the Gloaming one hundred
fifty-two feet and 1/10 (152. 1) feet to the point of

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is author-
ized and directed to cause notice of said amendment to be posted and
published pursuant to law.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $13, 799. 24; Lighting Dist-
rict Bills in the amount of $4, 140.71; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills
in the amount of $18,1325.37 and Highway Bills in the amount of $23,855.93
be and the same are hereby ordered paid.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
A litter of appreciation was received from the. Mattituck Park District
for work done by the Highway Department improving safety measures in that
area.
The request of the Cutchogue Fire Department for information concerning
the traffic light at New Suffolk Lane and Route 25 is to be forwarded to
the State Traffic Commission.

. WHEREAS, the residents of the area of Kenney' s Road , Southold, N.Y, by
petition verified the 30th day of April, 1968, ,petiti6ned the Town Board
for a change of zone of certain real property described in said ,petition
from "A" Business District to "A" Residential and Agricultural District,
and -
WHEREAS, the said petition was referred ,to the Planning Board for its
official recommendation and report, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board pursuant to due notice thereof hald a hearir}g
thereon on the 21st day of June, 1968,.-'at which time all interested
persons were given an opportunity to be heard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Building Zone
Ordinance, including the Building Zone Maps be amended from "B" Business
District to "A" Residential and Agricultural. District on the following
described property: ,
BEGINNING at the intersection of the easterly line of
Kenney' s Road, with the southerly line of North Sea Drive;
from said point 'of beginning running easterly along said
southerly line of North S a_ Drive, 183 feet more 'or less;,
thence southerly 550 feete moreor less, to the northerly
line of Dogwood Lane; thence westerly along said northerly
line of Dogwood Lane, i285 feet more or less to said east-.
erly line .of Kenney' s Road; thenceATMH4 said easterly
line 580 feet more or less, to the point of. beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is auth-
orized and directed to cause notice of said amendment to be posted
and published pursuant to law.
