The regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Southold scheduled
for November 261 1968 was recessed until December 3 , 1968, due to the
fact that Supervisor Lester M. Albertson was unable to attend the meet-
ing since he had to attend a County Budget meeting. '
The meeting reconvened on Tuesday, December 3, 1968, with the follow-
ing present: Supervisor Lester M. Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter; Town Attorney' Tasker; Superinten-
dent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved-,by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of November 7 , 1968 be and
they are hereby approved. '
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by .Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held
at the office of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Green-
port, N.Y. on Tuesday, December 10, 1968, at 3 ;00 P.M.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

RESOLVED: That the reports of Supervisor Albertson, Building Inspector
Terry; Bay Constable Januick and Town Clerk Richmond for the month of
November 1968 be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. -

to the 'Town Clerk 'for a Bingo License Amendment, and
WHEREAS, 'the Town Board has examined the application and after invest-
igation made findings and-determinations as required by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the find-
ings and determinations 'required by law, and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is .directed to issue an
amended Bingo License to the Burton Potter Post #185' American Legion,
Greenport; N.Y. _

WHEREAS, PETITIONS WERE RECEIVED FROM THE FOLLOWING:
1) Roy and Lorraine Brown, East Marion, New York, requesting a change
of zone of certain property in East Marion, N.Y. described .in said pet-
ition from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "BT- Business
District, and
2) Stephen J. and Frances Doroski, Southold, N.Y. requesting a change
of zone of certain property in Southold, N.Y. described in said petition
from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B4O.,8usiness District
and
3) David Mudd, Southold, N.Y. requesting a change of zone of certain
property in Southold, N.Y. described in said petition from"'A" Resid-
ential- and Agricultural District to "B" Business District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit these applications
to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C
of Article IX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of James Samuels
to locate a single trailer in Cutchogue, N.Y. be and the same is hereby
denied.

month period.

orized to purchase one Police Radio .under the County Contract for the
Police Department and transfer the present Radio to Fire Coordinator

appointed School Traffic Officer; Town ofSouthold,N.Y. effective as of
December 5, 1968, at the daily wage of $8.00 per day for each day worked,
he to serve at the pleasure of the Town ' Board.

RESOLVED: That Patrolmen Stanley Droskoski, Carlisle' Cochran and
Henry Santacroce be and they hereby are appointed Sergeants of the South-
old Town Police Department and that they serve at the pleasure of the
Town Board, unless otherwise provided for by law, and be it further

RESOLVED: That Chief Carl Cataldo be and he hereby is authorized to
appoint a second detective from the police force, Town of Southold, N.Y.

Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
WHEREAS, Norman E. Klipp for the past thirty-five years has been a
dedicated public servant as a member of the Southold Town Board from
1934 to 1960, as Supervisor of the Town of Southold from 1948 to 1960,
and as County Clerk of the County of Suffolk from 1960 to the present
time, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board desires to take this opportunity on the eve
of his retirementn.from public office to evidence the gratitude of the
community for the years of excellent, intelligent, energetic service
Norman E. Klipp has rendered the- Town of Southold and the County of
Suffolk, during his incumbency, and
WHEREAS, while serving as Supervisor of the Town of Southold, he
inaugurated the acquisition by the Town of land at Gull Pond and the
dredging of the waters in said vicinity for the creation of a Town
recreation area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in .recogfUt-ion'v,of.k"1his services to
the Town of Southold, the Town recreation area at Gull Pond shall be
henceforth known as Norman E. Klipp Marine- Park. )

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is auth-
orized to appoint an Attorney to represent the Town of Southold in court
in the cases of Frank S. Rosenberg, Edna Bennett and Grace Raymond, he
to be paid a reasonable compensation for his services. . -

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold entered
an order in the Town Clerk ' s Office dated August 13, 1968 wherein and
whereby portions of Bay Avenue and King Street at Orient, New York., were
duly ascertained, described and entered on said records, and
WHEREAS, as a consequence thereof the boundaries of said town highways
have been definitely established, and
WHEREAS, The Title Guarantee Company has been requested to insure the
title to the premises owned by David C. Spohn and Elinor J. Spohn
bounding Bay Avenue on the west and said title company has requested
that a quitclaim deed from the Town of Southold be executed and delivered
whereby the Town of Southold quitclaims any interest it may have to any
property lying to the west of the west boundary line of Bay Avenue as
so established,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supa'visor be and hereby is
authorized and directed to executee, acknowledge and deliver an instrument
rejeasing and quitclaiming any interest which the Town of Southold may
have in and to any property lying to the west of the westerly line of
Bay avenue as the same has been ascertained and described in the afore-
mentioned order of the Superintendent of Highways dated August 13,- 1968.
