SPECIAL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 17, 1968
WE, the undersigned, being members. of the Town Board of the Town pf
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive notice of
the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to by held
at Greenport, New York, in the Town of Southold, on Monday, September 17 ,
1968, and do hereby consent that the same be Yield on said date for the
transaction of any business which may properly come before said meeting.

Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by. Councilman Demarest;
WHEREAS, the Town Board may grant the sale of fill from the Town Disposal
Area after application to the Board for less than twenty-five cents . (. 25.)
but in no case less than twenty cents (. 20) per yard, fill to be loaded
by the applicant under the supervision of the Public .Works,, .and .all mat-
erial removed from said area to be used within the confines of the Town
of Southold, and
WHEREAS, Tufano Construction Company has applied to the Town Board for .
sand to be used on the new highway being constructed on Route 27A,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Tufano Construction Company. be and
hereby is granted permissiantby the Town Board to purchase fill at
twenty ($. 20) cents per yard for use on said highway, payment to be made
for fill before being removed from the disposal area.

MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 24, 1968.
The Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor, Lester M.
Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, L.I. on September 24, 1968 with
the following present: Supervisor Albertson; councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent
of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of September 10, 1968, and the Special Meeting
of September 17 , 1968, be and they are hereby approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport,
New York, on Thursday, October 10, 1968, at 3 :00 P.M.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

WHEREAS, Sam Brown has applied to the the Town Clerk for a single trailer
renewal permit dated August 27 , 1968,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Sam Brown to
locate a single trailer on his property off Middle Road, Cutchogue, N.Y.
be and the same is hereby granted for occupancy for a six (6) month period.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

WHEREAS, W. Edgar Worthington has applied to the Town Board for a single
trailer renewal permit dated October 9, 1968,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of- W. Eagar Worthington
to locate a single trailer on his property on Sound Ave. , Mattituck, N.Y.

The Town Clerk presented to the Town Board detailed estimates of revepues
and expenditures from the various Town Offices, Departments and Districts
for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 1969, pursuant to Section III
of the Town Law.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board release the Bank Book and securities
in lieu of a Bond of $7000. 00 as recommended by the Southold Town Planning
Board, and the Superintendent of .Highways for the completion 'of roads in
the subdivision known as VISTA BLUFF,, Cutchogue, N.Y, owned and developed
by Rene Gendron.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is author-
ized to ' sign a' Street Lighting Contract with Fishers Island• Lighting
Company in the lighting district for 79 lights C $43. 55 each and 28
lights C $50.00 each, contract to terminate on December 31, 1968.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by. Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That Thomas Birne.5, Southold, N.Y. be and he hereby is appointed
provisional Radio Operator of the Town of Southold to serve at the pleas-
ure of the Town Board, unless otherwise provided for,bytrlaw, and b& it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the compensation be fixed at $5500.00 per year and
that this appointment take effect on OcTober i, , 1968.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold be
authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest respons-
ible .bidder one (1) hew 1969 International Model`, 2010A Fleetstar, or equal.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; ounclmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved' by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: Th;.a,t a part time clerk be hired for Chiiefi Carl Xataldo, the
compensation to be $2. 00 per hour and the hours not to exceed fifteen
(15) per week.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and
Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
WHEREAS, the Hough machine owned and used by the Town at the refuse
disposal area sustained damage by reason of an accident, and
WHEREAS, it. is. necessary that such machine be used without interruption
in the 'sanitary land fill operation at the disposal area in order to
prevent a health hazard, and
WHEREAS, such machine must be repaired without delay and cannot await
competitive bidding,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that by reason of the foregoing a public --
emergency has arisen which requires that the aforementioned machine
be repaired immediately and cannot await public bidding, the Superintendent
of Highways is hereby authorized and directed to contract for the repair
of said machine without competitive bidding therefor.
