Albertson 16 South Street, Greenport, -New York, on Tuesday, 'May 14, 1968, at 3 :00 P.M. with. the following present:. Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices 'Suter and Clark; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Richmond; and Superintendent of Highways Dean. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter.; RESOLVED:' That the next meeting of the 'Town Board will be held at the office of 'Super.visor Lester M. Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday,..-May 28, 1,968 at 3 :00 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and -Suter. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Suter; RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting- of' April 23, 1968 be .and they hereby are approved. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That the reports of Supervisor Albertson, Building Inspector Howard Terry, Police and Town Clerk Richmond for the month of April 1968, be and they are accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and- he hereby is author- ized to` sign an agreement with the Federal Government for- relocating the Field Station approximately 30 feet� to the west of the existing station including electrical and telephone lines. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter; WHEREAS, Brushes Creek Association applied to the Town Board for financial assistance in dredging the entrance of Brushes Creek-, 'a Town waterway, in Mat"tituck, N'.Y.' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is authorized to contribute Town Funds in an amount equal' to half of the total cost up to but not to exceed the' sum of $475.00 to" ward the cost of dredging the entrance of Brushes Creek, Mattituck, N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest. and Valentine Justices Clark and Suter. Moved by Councilrrian Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter; WHEREAS, a request has been made to the Town Board to regulate the speed of boats in Little Creek, Cutchogue, N.Y. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That no person 'shall operate a -boat in ' Little Creek, Cutchogue, N.Y. -at a speed greater than five (5) miles per hour, and it is further RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause notice of such speed limit to be posted in appropriate places in said Creek. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That the Town Board request the enactment by the New York State Legislature of a Bill in relation to payment of a bill 'created by the Fishers Island Ferry District on the Fishers Island Ferry Boat. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine, Justices Clark and Suter. `-Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is requested to .cpntact the State Traffic Commission to request a 30 mile per hour speed limit in the development of Eastern Shores, Greenport, N.Y. . _ Vote .of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Irving Miller, Public Accountant retained by the Town of Southold, has audied the accounts ,of the departments of Town government under -Section 105' of the Town Law, and has found them to be correct. The reports are in the files of the Town Clerk-, Southold, N.Y. Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, a request has been made to the Town Board to regulate the speed of boats in Goose Creek, Southold, N.Y. Tuthill has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated May 6, 1968, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: ' That the application of John C. , Tuthill, Mattituck, N.Y. for a single trailer to be placed on Elijah Lane_ , Mattit- uck, .be granted for a period of six (6) months . Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine; WHEREAS, Roy A. Schelin has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated May 7 , 1968, NOW, ,THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Roy A. Schelin to locate a single trailer on his property, Johns Road, (Private Road) E/S Main. Road, Mattituck, N.Y, be and hereby is granted for a. six month period. ` Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; WHEREAS, a petition was received from Henry Horton, Cutchogue, N.Y, re- questing a chang.e, of zone of certain property on Main Road, Cutchogue, described in said petition from "A" Residential and Agriculural District to "B" Business District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of-`the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application' to the Planning Board d-n accordance with Section 901, Subdivision, C of Article IX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That Police Chief Cataldo be and he hereby is authorized to hire uniformed Policemen on a voluntary basis at regular pay for special or extra duties for the Town of Southold. Jensen be and he hereby is appoiAted Special Policeman of the Town of Southold to perform his duties as such on Fishers Island in said Town of Southold, he to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board, and be it further RESOLVED: That Richard A. Waitz be compensated while acting in the capacity of Historian in the amount of $600. 00 per year payable in regular monthly payments ; asndf IV*� 1�0 1968, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That, the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificates with the .proper parties as is required by Section 30, Sub- division 3 of the Town Law. Board. of the Town of Southold expires April 30, 1968, and WHEREAS, John Wickham has rendered 4i,-most valuable service as a member of the Planning Board of the .Town ,of Southold, HOW, ' THEREFORE, BE .IT RESOLVED: That .John Wickham be and he hereby is reappointed to the Planning Board of the Town of Southold for. a term of five years, .such term expiring"April 30, 1973. Town of Soubold has recommended to the Town Board that the Highway Specifications of the Town of Southold heretofore adopted by - the Town Board and effective on March 6, 1966, be amended, and WHEREAS, the Town Board .has examined the present Highway Specifications and desires to make certain changes and ,additions thereto, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT. RESOLVED: That the aforesaid Highway Specifications of the Town of Southold be and they hereby are amended to provide changes and additions as follows : 4. All highways -terminating at. tidewater vhall have a width of not less than 100 feet back from the mean high water mark, All highways on water front property must have :the sagie access to ;the water ' as above required. Each dead end shll have a stop sign on a 10 foot steel U type sign post. 5. All dead end highways must .have a width of not less than 100 feet for a distance of 100 feet back .from the dead end to provide for a turna- round all of which must be free of trees, bushes and stumps. A guard rail of 182 inches in width galvanized steel to be mountd on 4x6x6 inch posts of which 30 inches must be dipped in cresote .to be put in the ground to cover the deadend and. a stop-- sigh to be mounted on a 10 foot steel U post shall be placed in the middle of the dead-end. } 7 . A width of 36 feet shall be hereinafter known as the highway area from which all . trees, .brush, rocks, stumps and other obstructions shall be thoroughly cleared and 11 such material shall be removed from the bounds of the highway, The remaining distance from the curb line tothe property line shall be raked and seeded. 11 B.' Concrete Curbs.: Curbs shall be installed on all streets within. the sub-division or. devel- opment. All intersections shall have a curve with a radius of not less than twelve (12) feet. The distance between curb faces on both sides of the h4ghway shall be 36 feet. Curbs shall be 6 inches wide, 6 inches high, 16 inches deep.
