The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Lester M.
Albertson, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y, on Tuesday, April 9, 1968
at 3 :00 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Albertson; Counc .I-
men Demarest and' Valentine; Justices. Clark and Suter; Town Attorney,
Tasker; Superintendent of Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting' of the Town Board will beheld at the
office of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson, 16 - South Street, Greenport,
New York', on Tuesday, April '23 , 1968, at 3 :00 P.M.
Vote of Town.- Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded..by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of March 26, 1968, be and
they hereby are approved.

WHEREAS, Justice L. B. Hill has made application to the Town Board to
dedicate a certain road at Southold, N.Y. to be known as HARPERS ROAD,
more fully described in said petition -together with releases executed
by the owner thereof, and
WHEREAS, the Highway Superintendent has inspected the said highway and
has advised the Town Board that said proposed highway complies in all
respects with the specifications for the dedication of highways in the
Town of Southold,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That in accordance with Section 171 of
the Highway Law of the State of New York, consent be and the same is
given to the Superintendent of Highways to make an order laying out
the afroesaid highway to consist .of lands described in said application
as shown on certain maps attached 'to said application, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is auth-
orized and directed to forthwith cause the dedication, release and deed
to be recorded in the office of the Clerk of the County lof Suffolk,N N.Y.

RESOLVED: That the Town of Southold take over- and maintain the addit-
ional width caused by the realignment of Calves Neck Road, Southold,
N'.Y. according to the map and description on file with the Town Clerk.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Lester M. Albertson be and he hereby is auth-
orized to purchase one boat and trailer for use of the Bay Constable,
Town of Southold.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Albertson; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Glark and Suter.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the reports of Supervisor Albertson, Building Inspector
Howard Terry, Police and Town Clerk Richmond for the month of March
1968 be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

WHEREAS, Marian Council ,#3852, Knights of Columbus, Cutchogue, N.Y.
applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after invest-
igation duly made findings and determinations as required by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby
is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board '
the findings and determinations as required by law, and it is futther
RESOLVED:- That the Town Clerk be and he -hereby ' is directed to .issue
a Bingo License to the Marion Council #3852, Cutchogue, New -York.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold
be authorized to advertise for- bids -and to purchase from -the .-lowest ,
responsible bidder the following:
100 lin. ft. of 30" dia: , 16 ga. Galvanized corrugated steel Culvert
pipe-10 f't. lg; 8 PCs. of 30" dia. 16 ga. Connecting Bands ; 1, 000 lin.
ft. if 12" ' dia. 16 ga. Galvanized Copper corrugated steel Culvert
pipe - 10 ft. lg. , and 85 PCs. of 12" dia. 16 ga. Connection Bands.

RESOLVED: That the. Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold,
be authorized to advertise -for bids and to purchase from the lowest
responsible bidder, 1, 500 tons, or as much as may be needed the
of 3/8 •bluestone. "

WHEREAS, the term of office of Serge Doyen, Jr. , Fishers Island, N.Y.
-as a member of the Board of Appeals of the Town of Southold, N.Y. .
expires April 19, 1968, and
WHEREAS, in the past, as a member �of the Board of Appeals , . $erge Doyen,
Jr. has rendered the Town of Southold a most valuable service,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Serge Doyen, Jr. be and, he. hereby
is appointed as a member of- the Southold Town Board of Appeals. for. a_ 3
term of five -(5) years commencing April 19, 1968 and ending April 19, 1972.

WHEREAS, Southold Fire Department has requested permission to .parade
on July 10, 1968, at 7 :30 P-.M: from Willow Hill intersection down Main
Road to the Fire House (in case of rain, the -date- being July 11, 1968) ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT- RESOLVED: That the Town Board grant permission•
to the Southold Fire Department to hold a parade on the above stated date.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to install the following lights :

One 175 MVOH " LILCO #29 -Cox Neck Rd.., . Mattituck '
One 175 MVOH "" NYTCO #405- (between 404 & 406) on
Route 27A across the street from Moore' s Lane Ext. , Greenport.

RESOLVED:- That General Bills in the amount of $1.3, 049.59.; Highway.
Bills -in the amount of '$9, 807 .88; '-Lighting District Bills .in the amount
of $3, 892.82 and Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of
$11,411.82 be and they are. hereby ordered paid.

A group of people living in .the .area developed by Mr. Ed. Nidds in
Bay View, Southold, appeared before., the Town Board in relation to the
private roads in this-development. The., Board informed them that the
developer of. a piece of property must meet the qualifications for
highways set by the Town before the highways will be taken over and
maintained by the Town. If Mr. Nidds meets these qualifications, the
Town will be very willing to take over and maintain the .roads.
Mr. Paul Stoutenburgh .appeared before the Town ,Board and suggested
the Board appoint an Advisary Council in relation to wetlands and
open area in the .Town of Southold. The Town Board will study the .subject.

1) That a survey be made for signs for. lower speed in the church zone.

2) That the speed limit in the Town Beach Area, , Route. 27A,. Southold,
New York, be changed from 30 MPH to 40 MPH.

duty Automatic Curber, , or equal.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways Dean of the Town of
Southold be authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the
lowest responsible bidder, one (1) new Hough Pay Loader, Model H-60-H;
or equal.
