MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 9, 1969
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Albert M.
Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, September
9, 1969, with the following present: Supervisor .Martocchia; Councilmen
Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker;
Town Clerk Richmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of August 26, 1969, be and they hereby are
approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen_ Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; aeconded ,by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport;
N.Y, on September 23 , 1969, at 3 :00 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved "by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That the reports of the Police, Supervisor, Building Inspector,
Fishers Island Ferry District and Town Clerk for the month of August
1969, be accepted by the Town" Board and placed on file.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest
and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That this Town Board accept a check in the amount of $2500. 00
forteited by the Outdoor Advertising Company for signs which were. not-
removed according to the agreement and court order.

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the following monies.be transferred in the following
manner :
From contingent Fund to 'Public Refuse Disposal-other expense--$1, 000.00
From to Conservation, -Shellfish------7-------- 32.50
From Bay Constable Equip. to Bay Constable-other expense------ 1, 000. 00
From Contingent-Part Town to Legal & Engineering-------------- 3, 800. 00

and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the" bill of Smith, Tasker, Finkelstein and Lundberg
in the amount of $5, 178. 30 for legal fees be and khmy hereby is
ordered paid.

and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
RESOLVED: That Frances S. Gaddis be and hereby is appointed Clerk-
Typist to the Police Department at a salary of $4000.00 per year,
effective as of September 1, 1969, she to serve at the pleasure of
the Town Board.

and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

WHEREAS, Burton Potter Post ##185 American Legion, Greenport, New York,
applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and
WHEREAS, tithe Town Board has examined the application and after invest-
igation duly made findings and determinations as required by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Supervisor be and he hereby
is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the
findings and determinations required by law, and it is further ` `

License to the Burton Potter Post #185 American Legion, Greenport, N.Y-..

WHEREAS, THE Southold American Legion Auxiliary G;T.G. - Post #803, Southold,
N.Y. applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after investig-
ation duly made findings and determinations as required by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board thefindings
and determinations as requried by law, and it is further
RESOLVED: . That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a
Bingo License to the Southold American Legion Auxiliary G.T.G. Post #803 ,
Southold, N.Y.

WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after invest-
igation duly made findings and determinations as required by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is
authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the find-
ings and determinations as required by law, and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue ,a
Bingo License to the Southold American Legion G.T.G. Post #803 , Southold.

RESOLVED: That Mrs. Jean Wetmore, Bay Shore Road, Greenport, N.Y. ; Mrs.
Pauline McConnell, Ackerly Pond Lane, Southold, N.Y. , Mr. Clarence Bennett,
Westphalia Road; Mattituck; N.Y, and John Peishoff; Fishers Island, N.Y.
be and they are hereby appointed Dog Enumerators for the Town of Southold
for the year 1969-1970.

Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That the town -Board of the Town of Southold of the State of New
York elects to participate -as a participating employer in the State
Employees Health Insurance Plan and to include in such plan it s officers
and employees (and retired officers and employees) , subject to and in
accordance with the provisions of Article XI of the Civil Service Law and
the Regulations governing the State Health Insurance Plan, as presently
existing er hereafter amended, together with such provisions of the
insurance contracts as may be approved by .-the President of the, Civil
Service Commission and any administrative rule or directive governing the
plan.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways, Town of Southold, be and
he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids and to purchase from the
lowest responsible bidder, the following:
One (1) used 1966 (or later model) V202 International Truck Cab & Chassis,
the cost of the above not to exceed the amount of $2800.00.

Moved'by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark;
RESOLVED: That the Supervisor, Albett Martocchia, be authorized to adver-
tise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible bidder, 250, 000
gallons of Premium gasoline, or as much as may needed for the Town of
Southold. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen
Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

WHEREAS,, Carl Frelix, Jr. has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer
renewal permit dated August 25, 1969,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Carl Frelix, Jr.
to locate a single trailer on property of Herman Hubbard, north side of
Main Road, Mattituck, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for a period of six
(6) months.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

WHEREAS, William A. Steiner has applied to the Town Board for a single
trailer renewal permit dated August '25, 1969,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of William A. Steiner
to locate a single trailer on his property on John' s Road, east side of
Main Road, Mattituck, N.Y. be and hereby is granted for a six ' (6)' month
period.

WHEREAS, a petition was received from Henry Taca, Cutchogue Properties
Inc. , 57 West Lane, Bay Shore, N.Y. requesting a change of zone of
certain property described in said petition from "A" Residential .and
Agricultural District to "C" Industrial District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the. Town. Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the
Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision C of Article
IX of the Building Zone Ordinance, of the Town of Southold.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, Town of SouthoIdZ,
be and he hereby is authorized to attend N.Y.S . Building Conference on
October 8; 9 and 10, 1969 and that necessary expenses be a charge
agaist the town.

and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

RESOLVED: That one (1) member of the Planning. Board, Town of Southold,
be and he hereby is. authorized to attend N.Y.S . Building Conference on
October 8, 9 and 10, 1969, and that necessary expenses .be a charge against
the Town.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Outer.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $10, 378.49; Lighting District
Bills in the amount of $315.63; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the
amount of $18, 123.05 and. Highway Bills in the amount of $7 , 572.72 be and
they are hereby ordered paid.

Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to install the following street lights :
One 1000 Lumen on LILCO pole #25 on Smith Drive South, Southold
One 1000 Lumen on pole LILCO #$11 on Smith Drive North, Southold
One 1000 Lumen on NYTCO pole #16 on Pipes Neck Rd. , Greenport West
One 100 cpoh on LILCO pole #6 on Midwood Dr. & Pinewood Rd. ,Fleets Nk. ,Cutch.
One 100 cpoh on LILCO pole #14 on Midwood Dr.&Holden Ave. Cutchogue,
One 100 .cpoh on LILCO pole #35 on Stillwater 'Ave.., Cutchogue
