RESOLVED: That the ..Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to install 175 OHMV street lights
on LILCO poles 4106, 108 and 110 on Mairi Road, Laurel, N.Y.. near .
the Laurel Inn.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $10,484'. 20; Highway

amount of $9, 845.56 be and the same are hereby ordered paid.

The Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District is interested in purchasing
property at the end of Pequash Avenue, Cutcho:gue, said correspondence
being in the hands of Attorney Tasker.
Mr. Eastman, Representative of the Long Island 'Lighting Company,
discussed. street lighting in the Town of Southold with the Town Board.
A communication was received from H 0 S T.
Communication was received from Rode Trautman regarding the Railroad
crossing on Laurel A enue,, Southold.

The Southold Town .Board met- at the office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia
at Greenport, N.Y. on April 22, 19691, with, the following present: Sup-
ervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; . Justices. Clark
and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent Dean and. Town Clerk
Richmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry 'Edwards.

RESOLVED: .That.Henry Raynor of New Suffolk, N.Y. be and hehereby is
appointed a member of the Southold Town Planning 'Board for a period
of five (5) years in place of William Unkelbach who passed away on
March 23, 1969. The term of office will begin May 1, 1969 and end
May 1, 1974.

RESOLVED: That Joseph Conway, Southold,. N.Y. be and he hereby is appointed
Police Patrolman of the Town of Southold to serve at. the pleasure of the
Town Board unless otherwise provided for, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation for this position be fixed at $6500.00
per year, payable biweekly, said appointment to be effective as of 'May 10,
1969, on a one year probationary period.

WHEREAS, Roy and Lorraine Brown by petition verified the 25th day of
November, 1968, petitioned the Town Bard for a change of zone of certain

official recommendation and report, and

WHEREAS, the said petition was- referred to the Planning Boara for its
official .'recommendation and report, and

NOW,, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the relief demanded in said petition
of David .Mudd, on Parcel 2 be and the - same is in all respects denied.

R. T. Preston Inc. requested that the application submitted by them for

WHEREAS, THIS Board deems it in the public interest and in the promotion
of health, safety, moral or general welfare to the .Town 'of Southold that
certain premises in Southold, Town of Southold, County_of Suffolk,- here-
after more fully described be re-zoned and zoned "A'.' Residential and
Agricultural District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: ,That the Building Zone- Ordinance of the
Town of Southold, including the Building Zone Maps, be amended .by the
Town Board on its own motion by changing from "C" Industrial and "B"
Business and nonconforming uses to "A" Residential and Agricultural Dist-

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That pursuant to Article IX, Section 901, of the
Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, the Town Clerk be' and he
hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a copy •.of this resolution
to the Planning Board of the Town of Southold with a written request
instructing said Planning Board to prepare an official report concerning
the same together with their recommendation.

A police call box has been installed across from the outdoor theatre,
Main Road, between Southold and Greenport,. N.Y:
Mrs. Dove, Mrs. Rosenburg and Miss Harnan ,appeared before 'the To n Boa d

requesting that the Board appoint a Committee to represent the Conservat
ion Advisory Council.
Mr. •Stanley Waymie appeared before the Board suggesting that night
meetings beheld by the,-Board. He also questioned the Board about
different types of. ordinances that may be . adopted 16rom time to time.
Letters were received from the following: .
Gerard Purcell in reference to drainage on Ackerly Pond Lane, Southold.
Virginia .Dietrich regarding erosion on Long Island Sound.
Jeanne Corwin referring to Youth .Progaam Funds for .Greenport area. Said
letter was given to Attorney Tasker for study and reply.
Donald Fredericks commending Sgt. Santaccoce, Patrolmen Beebe and Conway
z-
for fast and efficient rescue of a man overboard in Peconic Bay, 1 612
-possibly saving a _life.
From Kermit Jones, Cutchogue, and Mrs. James H. Reutershan, Amagansett,
in reference to Fair Housing Ordinance.
New regulations have been received on the amendment to the Taylor
Act, copies of which will be sent to each employee.

The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Albert M.
Martocchia at Greenport, N.Y. on May 6 , 1969 with the following present:
Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark
and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of Highways Dean and
Town Clerk Richmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of April 22 , 1969 be and they hereby are
approved.

Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on the new fares for
the Fishers Island Ferry, a copy of which is filed in the- office of

RESOLVED: That the Peconic Bay Power Squadron be and hereby is given
permission to use the New Suffolk Beach facilities on May 30, 1969 after
6 :00 P.M. for a beach cookout.

Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest;
WHEREAS, Section 64-b of the Town Law authorizes the town board to appoint
a conservation advisory council, and
WHEREAS, this board deems it in .the best interest of the Town of' Southold
that such a council be appointed in the Town of Southold,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: as follows :
1. There is hereby appointed a conservation advisory council in the Town
of Southold to be known as the -Southold Town Conservation Advisory
Council to consist of 7 members who shall be appointed by the Town Board'
