Albertson -had filed his resignation with him on December 24, 1968 at 4 :30 P.M. to take effect midnight December 31, 1968. _ Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: That Justice Henry A. Clark be and he hereby is designated to act as temporary chairman of this Town Board meeting in the absence of the Supervisor. The foregoing resolution was duly put to a vote on roll call which resulted as follows : Ayes : Councilmen 'Demarest and Valentine; Justices Suter and Clark. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; Whereas, a vacancy exists in the office of Supervisor of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, caused by the resignation of Supervisor Lester M. Albertson who was elected to such office on the 7th day of November, 1967 for a term of two years from the lst day of January, 1968, any WHEREAS, the Town Clerk of the 'Town of Southold has notified this Board that Assessor Albert Martocchia has heretofore on the 2nd dya of January, 1969, resigned his office of Assessor by delivering to the Town Clerk his resignation in writing addressed to the Town Clerk, said resignation to take effect immediately, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That pursuant to the authority vested in the Town Board pursuant bD the provisions of Section 64 of the Town Law, that Albert Martocchia be and he hereby is appointed to the office of Supervisor of the Town of Southold to fill the vacancy in said office and that such appointment shall take effect .immediately and the said Albert Martocchia shall hold such office until January 1, 1970, The question of adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly put to a vote on roll call which resulted as follows : Ayes-Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Suter and Clark. The temporary chairman then called a recess at 3 :30 P.M. in order that the Town Clerk administer the Oath of Office to Albert Martocchia and that Albert Martocchia file his official undertaking with the Town Board. The Town Clerk thereupon administered the Oath of Office to Albert Marto- cchia and Albert Martocchia thereupon presented his official undertaking to the Town 'Board. Oath and Bonds were then delivered and filed with ' the County Clerk of the County of Suffolk, New York and handed to the Town Clerk of Southold. Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Demarest; RESOLVED: . That. Bond No.. 73-S-8i72 BC, issued by the Aetna Casualty and. Surety Company in the sum of $200, 000.00 on behalf of Albert. Martocchia and Bond #73-8173 BC issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the sum of $15, 000. 00 on behalf of Albert Martocchia as custodian of Finances of 'the Fishers Island 'Ferry District be and the same` are hereby approved as to form, manner of 'execution and sufficiency of sureties therein Vote of Town Board: Ayes-9xp9as_Vt30xxMXx:tNZXkza* Councilmen Demarest and Valentine; Justices Clark and Suter. Moved by Justice Clark ; seconded by Councilman Valentine; RESOLVED: That Supervisor Albert Martocchia be and he hereby is authorized to sign the wage contract between the C.S .E.A. and the Town of Southold prepared by the Town Attorney and agreed upon by the C.S .E.A. and the Town Board.
