The 'Southold Town Board met at the office of the Supervisor., Albert :.

WHEREAS, the Town of Southold has requested the .County of Suffolk -to
dredge a navigation. channel. in West Harbor, Town of Southold.- and. .
WHEREAS, the County of Suffolk proposes to do said dredging of West
Harbor in the-Town of- Southold at a nominal cost to the ,Town of Southold,
and
WHEREAS, ii order .to: accomplish .said dredging, plans, . specifications, :
agreements - and other- documents must, be executed ,on behalf of the' To'Wn-"
of Southold; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized to execute,
on behalf of the Town of Southold, all necessary plans. and specifications,
spoil area agreements, assurances to the County of Suffolk,- lic.ense and/or
dredging applications to Federal-. and State Agencies and all other _.:
documents that may'. be required to accomplish said dredging work, ,

WHEREAS, ' the. Town ,of Southold has requested the County of Suffolk to.
dredge a navigation channel in West Harbor, Town of Southold, as.'-shown
on the accompanying maps, and
WHEREAS., the County of. Suffolk proposes , to do said dredging,� and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of the Town of Southold by..resolution duly
_adopted by the Town Board of said Town of Southold has been authorized
and directed to sign for and on'behalf- of the Town of- Southold assurances
to the County .of Suffolk, that the said Town of Southold- willpperforiri-
all acts required to be' performed by said Town, in connection with the
preparation for the dredging operation as aforesaid and obtaining of
all necessary easements and..rights. of way for said dredging operation
and use of areas indicated on the attached map for spoil areas together.

a.NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the benefits to the Town of Southold,
as aforesaid, the Town of Southold hereby assures the- County of Suffolk
that it will:
(a) Furnish, free of cost to .the County of Suffolk, -all lands, -easements,
rights of way,and spoil disposal areas necessary for the new work and
subsequent maintenance when and if required for the dredging operations
at West Harbor, all as shown on the attached map, and
(b) 'Hold and_ save the County of Suffolk free from any claims or damages
resulting. from said improvement or resulting in any way from the said
dredging operation or. the use-of equipment at the said West Harbor, or
use' -as any.- spoil area or any other area affected by said dredging oiler-

WHEREAS, a map, plan and report have been duly filed in the Town Glerk ' s
Office, and
WHEREAS , an order was duly adopted by the Town Board of the Town, of -
Southold on the 5th day of November, 1970, reciting the filing of said
map, plan and report the boundaries .of .the proposed Greenport .Water
Supply District, the fact that -the map, plan and report are on .fiie
in the Town .Clerk ' s Office for public inspection and stating all other,
matters required by law to be stated, and .specifying the 24th day' of :
November, 1970 at 7 :30 P.M. on that day, as the time, and the Super-
visor ' s Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, in said Town as
the place where the said Town Board would cmeet to consider said map,
plan and report and the proposed establishment of said District," and
to hear all persons interested in the.. subject matter" thereof, concern
ing the same, and to take 'such action thereon as .is .required or author-
ized by law, and
WHEREAS , such order was duly published and posted as required by law,
and
WHEREAS, a hearing on said matter was duly held by said Town Board .on
the 24th day of November, 1970, at 7 :30 P.M. of said day at the Super-
visor ' s Office, 16 South Street', Greenport, New York, in said Town,

NOW, upon the evidence given upon such hearing, it is .
RESOLVED .AND DETERMINED:
(ao That the Notice of Hearing was .published and posted as. required-
by law, and is otherwise sufficient.
(b) That all property and property owners within the proposed West
Greenport Water Supply District, are benefitted thereby,
(c) That all property and property owners _:benefitted are included
within the limits of the proposed West Greenport Water Supply .District.
(d) That it is in the public interest to establish said West Greenport
Water Supply District.
FURTHER RESOLVED AND DETERMINED THAT this Board in .all respects approves
the establishment of the West Greenport Water Supply District in ,the
Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, . to embrace the territory.

Mr. Waimey appeared before the .Board objecting to the County
purchasing Pine Crest Dunes and Eastern Shores property as
a county park, since it would affect the school and town taxes.
