The Southold Town Board met. at the office of- Supervisor Albert Martocchia,
Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, May 5, 197b at '3 :00 P.M. with the' follow-
ing present: Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and Rich; Justices
Demarest and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; Superintendent of Highways
Dean and Town Clerk Richmond. Absent: Justice E. Perry Edwards.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Rich;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of April 21, 1970 be and they
hereby are approved.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine
and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Justice Demarest;
RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of Supervisor Albert Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport,
N.Y. on Tuesday, May 19, 1970 at 3 :00 P.M.
Vote- of Town Board: Ayes- upervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine
and Rich; Justices Demare'Sst and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Rich;
RESOLVED: That the reports of the Supervisor, Police, Building Inspector,
Board of Appeals, Justice Suter .and .Town Clerk for the month of April
1970 be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine
and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Rich;
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island .Lighting Company to install the following street lights :
One 21000 Lumenaire on Pole LILCO IX, Tuckers Lane, Southold `
One 52000 Lumen Floodlight on NYTCO pole 734 on Rt. 25 for 1300 coverage
on Monument Corner, Southold, and `
Change ,light on NYTCO pole 23 to. 175 MV on Oaklawn Avenue and Wells .

WHEREAS, the Salvation Army daily demonstrates its concerned compassion
for those in' need, regardless of race, creed; national origin or color, and
WHEREAS, tthe Salvation Army, through its 'religious and social service
programs in our community, wages war against spiritual and material '
poverty, helping .those afflicted to move forward to a better way of life;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Albert Martocchia, Supervisor, do hereby proclaim the
period of May 11-17, 1970 as Salvation Army Week in the Town of
Southold and do urge all citizens to join me in honoring the dedicated
and compassionate service of the Salvation Army and its representatives
in the Town of Southold.

and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter.
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Rich;
RESOLVED: That Police Chief Carl Cataldo, Town of Southold, be and he
hereby is authorized to attend the N.Y.S . Police Chief Conference at
Albany, New York, J74ly 27-28-29-30, 1970, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the actual and necessary expenses to travel, meals and
lodging incurred while attending said conference be a legal charge
against the Town of Southold.

WHEREAS, George McCarthy has applied to the Town Board for a single
trailer permit renewal dated April 21, 1970,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of George McCarthy
to locate a single trailer off Route 25, Laurel, N.Y. be and hereby is
granted for a six month period.

and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter.

WHEREAS,, Southold Planning Board has prepared an official report and
.recommendation and the County Planning Board has been notified nad their
report ,returned to the Town Board on the application of Case Bros. for
a change 'of zone from "A" Residential and Agricult- ral District to
"M-1" Multiple Residence District, CutchogtLe, New York,
NOW, THEREFORE® BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by
the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor 's Office, 16 South Street,
Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, June 9, 1970, at 7 :30 P.M. on the above
mentioned petition and that the Town Clerk be and he herbby is authorized
and directed to cause notice of said hearing to be published in the
Long Island Traveler, pursuant to the requirements of law.

Recess was called at 3 :40 P.M. 'and the meeting reconvened at 5 :00 P.M:
Moved by Councilman Valentine; seconded by Councilman Rich;
RESOLVED: That the following fees be charged at the beaches specified
in the Ordinance Regulating the Use of Parking Areasat Southold Town Beaches :
$ 1. 50 each day at Southold Town Beach.
10. 00 Lessee Parking permit per year.
10. 00 each unit Hotel-Motel.

Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Suter;
RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount 'of $11, 028. 11; Lighting District
Bills in the amount of $4, 301. 34; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in
the amount of $16,456. 96 and Highways Bills in the amount of $18;643. 39
be and the same are hereby ordered paid.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine
and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter.
Mr. Clement Booth, representative of the Conservation Committee, appeared
before the Town Board and presented the Supervisor with a resolution on
wetlands, etc. for the Board to study.
A resident of Mattituck Creek area appeared before the Board requesting
that more pllicing of, the area be done as boats are speeding and littering.
Announcement was made that the "CLEARWATER", a sailing ship, would -be in
Greenport Harbor. Arrangements_ will be made with the schoold for students
to visit the ship.
