The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Albert M.
Martocchia, on Tuesday, January 13 , 1970, at 3 :OO P.M. with the
following present: Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine and
Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter; Town Attorney Tasker; ' Supt. of
Highways Dean and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Justice Suter; seconded by Councilman Valentine;
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of January 3 , 1970 be and
they hereby are approved.
Vote of Town' Board: Ayes-Supervisor Martocchia; Councilmen Valentine_
and Rich; Justices Demarest and Suter.

RESOLVED: _That the next meeting of the Town Board will be held at the
office of'-Supervisor- Albert Martocchia, 16 South Stteet, -Greenport;
New York, on Tuesday, January 27 , 1970, at 3 :00 P.M.

RESOLVED: That the reports of Building Inspector Terry, Justice -Suter
and the Police for the month of December, 1969, be and they hereby
are accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

RESOLVED:. That General Bills in the amount of $20, 646. 03 ; Lighting'-'

$2, 630.47 be and the same are hereby ordered. pai.d.

RESOLVED: That Maureen Moffat be and sh_e. hereby is appointed to rep-

RESOLVED: That all the Assessors in Southold Town who wish to take the
correspondence course on New York State Assessing be and hereby are
entitled to the charge of $18. 00 and that it ibe a legal charge against
the Town.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Albert Martocchia be. and he hereby is author-
ized to sign the amended contract for the repairs, painting and' storing
of the Police Boat, said contract having been received from Pierce
Boat Yard in the amount of $670. 90.

RESOLVED: That the report of Fishers Island Ferry District for the
month of November 1969 and December 1969. be accepted by the Town Board

RESOLVED: That Supervisor -Albert Martocchia be and he hereby is author-
ized to sign a contract for photocopy paper from Apeco Co. for the five
copy machines owned by Town of Southold.

RESOLVED: That the. Supt. of Highways, Town of Southold, be authorized
to advertise for bids and to purchase 'from. the lowest responsible bidder,
2500 tons, more or less as may be needed, of 3/8 Blue Stone.

RESOLVED: That the Supt. of H ghways, Town of Southold, be authorized
to advertise for bids and to purchase from the lowest responsible
bidder one New 1970 half ton Pickup, one International Pickup to -be
taken ,in trade, as part payment for the new truck.

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held' on the "9th day of December, 1969,
at 7 :30 P.M. for the purpose of considering the taking over of Ed' s
Road, Victoria Drive, Liberty Lane, Colonial Road, Summit Road, and
Columbia Road, Southold, said petition having been filed on November
6, 1969 and all interested persons having been given an opportunity
to be heard, and
WHEREAS, the area benefited by the improbement is determined by the-
Town 'Board to be, all of the several lots and parcels of land front-
ing on and abutting upon either side of said highways, pursuant to the
provisions of Section 200 of the Town Law of the State of New York,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That this Town Board take over and
maintain said highways or -roads as stated in the petition in the
sum of $6, 000. 00.

WHEREAS, Southold Town Planning` Board has prepared an official
report and recommendation and the County Planning' Board has been
notified `and their report returned to the Town Board on the application
of Anna Hansen for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricult-
ural District to "M" Multiple Residence District on Parcel 1' and from
"A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District on
Parcel 2, situated in Mattituck, N.Y. and Edward Speeches, North Road,
Greenport, N.Y. relative to change of zone from "A` Residential and
Agricultural. District_to "B=2 " Business District and Aldrich -Lane
Realty Corporation with offices at 4910' Sunrise Highway, SayvilIe, N.Y.
relative to change of zone from "A" Residential and 'Agricultural Dist-
rict to "B" Business District on certain property situated in Laurel; NY
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held -by
the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor' s Office, l6 South Street;
Greenport, New York, on February 3 , 1970 at 7 :3-0 P.M. on the above
mentioned petitions and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized
and directed to cause notice. of. said hearings to be published in the
Suffolk Weekly Times,, pursuant to the requirements of law.

to locate a single trailer on his property, Peconic, N.Y. be and hereby
is granted for a period of six months.

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board will accept a Bond of $15, 000. 00
as recommended by the Southold Planning Board as prepared by Lawrence ,
Tuthill, Construction Engineer, for the completion of roads and other
improvements in the subdivision to be known as BENNETT'S POND, located.
off Westphalia Road, Mattituck, New York, owned and developed by. H..
R. Reeves & Sons.

RESOLVED: That the Southold Town Board will accept a Bond of $51, 000. 00
as recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board as prepared by
Lawrence Tuthill, Construction Engineer, for the completion of roads
and other improvements in the ' subdivision -owned by Martin Weglioki,
located on the north side of Peconic Bay Boulevard, Laurel, N.Y.

RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry or George Fisher, Building Inspectors,
Town of Southold, be and are hereby authorized to attend State Building
Officials School, New York City, February 19 and 20, 1970, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the actual and necessary expenses to travel,
meals and lodging incurred while attending said school, be a legal
charge against the Town.

WHEREAS, a petition was received from William Pollert requesting a
change of zone of certain property described in said petition from "A"
Residential and Agricultural Districtand "B" Business District to
"M" Multiple Dwelling,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to
the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Subdivision 'C of
Article IX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold.

WHEREAS, A PETITION texas received from George Semerjian, requesting a
., change of zone of certain properties described in said petition in
East Marion,, New York as follows :

Business District;
Parcel 2 - from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "M"
Multiple Residence District;
Parcel 3 - from "B" Business District to Multiple Residence District;
Parcel 4 - from ."B" Business District -to Multiple Residence District; and

congratulations to Patrolman Edward Sidor on behalf of the Town . Board.

Council proposing a study on Open Space.
A petition was received from residents of Southold objecting to the
new road south of Southold Village.
Mr. John Rapp discussed Safety on our Highways and Narcotics and
Intoxication.
Mr. Waimey of New Suffolk, N'.Y. asked for information on Beach .
Stickers and parking of boat trailers in New Suffolk. _ He also
asked for information on police dicipline.
