WHEREAS, the Town Board desires to' take this opportunity to' evidence the
gratitude of the community for the years of excellent and intelligent
service Henry A. Clark has rendered the Town of Southold during his
incumbency, and -
WHEREAS, Henry A. Clark chose not to run for office in the 1970 election,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board regrets the loss
of -Mr. Clark as a member of the Town Board but wishes him many years of
healthyand happy retirement.

RESOLVED: That the next meeting of the ' Town Board will be held at the

Fishers Island Ferry District in advertising for bids for construction and
relocation of their landing facilities in New London from that area 1zurre9t-
lygie-asbdefr6rn'nthe City of New London to a location directly on land be-
longing to the Fishers }Island Ferry District in New London, specifications
and drawing having been made up in accordance with the wishes of the
Commissioners by John Appelt of Orient, N.Y.
FURTHER RESOLVED: That acception of any bid received by the Commissioners
of Fishers Island Ferry District shall be subject to the approval of the
Southold Town Board.

RESOLVED: That this Town Board approves the action of the' Commissioners
of the Fishers Island Ferry District in the following resolution:
WHEREAS. the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District
are of the unanimous opinion that it is in the best interest of the Ferry
District and their employees to establish a policy governing- wages, vacation,
longevity, sick leave, retirement and paid vacations, and
WHEREAS,, the Town of Southold has an agreement with their employees
covering all of the above mentioned items and which the Board of Commiss-
ioners are in agreement that the items in subject agreement are compatible
to this District,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That this the Fishers Island Ferry District -does
hereby adopt for the period January 1, 1970 through and including December
31, 1970 those items of subject agreement dated January 2, 1969 as between
the Town of Southold and the employees of the Town of Southold as the guide
for this District' s employees, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED: That if there are any changes in subject agreement the
Town of Southold has with their employees in 1970 then such changes will
be incorporated in the Fishers Island Ferry Districts ' s employee policy
and will be effective for the period January 1, 1971 through` and including
December- 31, 1971 and any changes affected thereafter in following years
will be handled in this manner.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Albert Martocchia be and he hereby is approved
for appointment as County Park Trustee for ,one year to fill the vacancy
of Rev. John Howard who has requested his resignation be accepted, due
to moving from this area.

WHEREAS, Section 223 of the Town 'Law, allows the Town Board of any town
having more than one .assessor to establish the office of Chairman of the
Town Assessors, who in .addition to his regular duties shall perform such
services in connection with assessment and taxation of property for state
county and town purposes as the Board shall direct,
NOW, THEREFFRE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Wendell Tabor be and hereby is
designated to hold the office of Chairman of the Board of Assessors until
the first day of January next succeeding, such designation all in. accord-
ance with Section 22B of the Town Law, and .be. it further s
RESOLVED: That the compensation for such appointment be fixed at $380"0: i

WHEREAS, The Town Board may requiredany Bank, so designated,. to deposit
with such Board the Bonds or Certificates. of the United States of the
State of New York or any County, Town City, Village or School District of
the=State of New- York- as security for such funds so deposited but such
Bond or Certificate shall be subject to the. approval of the Town Board
and shall be deposited in such place and held under such condition as
the Town Board may determine,

effective as of February 1, 1970, as the official paper of the Town of
Southold for the publication of all notices, resolutions, ordinances and
other matter required to be published, and it is- further
RESOLVED: That. the Suffolk Weekly Times, Greenport, N.Y. a newspaper be
designated as an additional newspaper for the publication of such notices,
resolutions and ordinances.

RESOLVED: That any Town Official elected or appointed who is required to
use•.his own automobile in the performance of duty be compensated for travel
expense necessarily and actually incurred in carrying out the duties 'of
his office at a rate not to exceed twelve (12(�) cents a mile.

RESOLVED: That Southold Town officials who desire to attend the Annual
meeting of the Association of Towns of' the State of New York to be held
in February' 1970 be and hereby are authorized to attend, and it i:s -
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the actual and necessary expenses incurred in
connection with attendance of such meeting shall be a legal charge
against the Town.

uary 1, 1970 to December 31, 1970.

RESOLVED: That the elected officers be paid salarees for their respective
offices and that their salaries be paid in regular monthly payments, and

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Albert Martocchia be designated to tepresent
the Town of Southold at the Annual meeting of the Association of Towns
of the State 1of New'York to be held in New York City, New York,'
in February, 1970 and to 'cast the vote of the aforesaid Town pursuant
to Section 6 of Article III of the Constitution and by-laws of said
Association, and be it further
RESOLVED: That Justice Suter be designated to act as Alternate to cast
the vote of said `Town at the Annual meeting in the absence of Supervvisor

RESOLVED: That Albert Martocchia, Supervisor, be and he hereby is auth-
orized to acta.as Social Service Officer .at the pleasure of the Town
Board, and it is further
RESOLVED: That Albert Martocchia serve in such capacity without com-
