, Meeting of March 28, 1972
The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Albert M.
Martocchia, 16 South Street, .Greenport, New York, at 3 :00 P.M. ,
Tuesday, March 28, 1972, with the following present:.
Deputy Supervisor Louis. M. Demarest, Councilman.
James H. Rich, Jr. , Councilman James F. Homan,
Justice Martin Suter.
Absent,: Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, and
Justice E. Perry Edwards.
Moved. by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, . it was.
RESOLVED: That the minutes of March_ 7, 1972 be and they hereby _
are approved.

RESOLVED, that the minutes of March 10, 1972 be and they hereby

RESOLVED, that the next meeting of the Town Board will be le ld

RESOLVED, that the reports of the Police Department for the month
of February 1972 be accepted by the Town, Board and placed on file.

WHEREAS, William Lieblein of Southold has volunteered to place
navigation stakes in the entrance of Arshamomaque Pond for the
year 1972 ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that William Liebleiri_ be and hereby
is authorized by the Southold Town Board to place markers at a cost
not to exceed $50. 00.

Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED, -that Stephen Witherppoon be and he hereby is appointed
to the Narcotic Guidance Council of the Town of Southold.

Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was
RESOLVED, that Deputy Supervisor Demarest be and he hereby is
authorized to sign the necessary papers for An Act, Bill No. 11030,
Assembly Bill to confer certain powers on the park commissioners
of the Southold Park District of Southold, and the Town Board of
such Town. Deputy

Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan,
WHEREAS, the Burton Potter Post #185 , American Legion, Greenport,
New York, applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License Amendment, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application, and after
investigation duly made findings and determinations as required by
law, ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Deputy Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town
Board, the findings and determinations required, by law, and it is
further
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue
an amended Bingo License to the Burton Potter Post #185, American
Legion, Greenport, New York.

Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it -was
RESOLVED; that Supervisor Albert Martocchia be and he hereby is
authorized to purchase one new electric typewriter with 17 inch
carriage for the Assessor's office. Said typewriter to be purchased
under the State contract. The old typewriter to go to Justice Suter.

WHEREAS, a petition was received from Leisure Greens, Inc. , Mattituck,
New York, requesting a change of zone on certain property at Cutchogue,
New York, said petition for a change from "A" Residential and Agric-
ultural District to 'D" Light Business District,
NOW, THEREFORE, -BE :IT RESOLVED; , thatc the Town .Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and 'he hereby is directed to, transmi-t .thins applica-tion
to the Planning Board in accordance with Article XVI;. Section 1600
of the' Building -Zone -Ordinance-iof the Town, of Southold..

General Industrial District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT -RESOLVED, that--the Town Clerk of i•the Town of
Southold be and he• hereby is� dir-ected to transmit this application
to the Planning Board in accordance with Article XVI, Section 1600

requirements of law.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that 'a public hearing will be held
by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor ' s Office, 16 South
Street., Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, April 25, 1972 , at 7 :30
P.M: , on the abovementi,on ad petition and that the Town Clerk be
and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause notice of said
hearing to be published in the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck
Watchman, .pursuant to the requirements of law.

and Agricultural District to "B" Light Business District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a public hearing will be held
by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor ' s Off,ice, 16 South
Street, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, April 25 , 1972 at 7 :30 P.M. ,
on the. abovementioned petition and :that the Town .Clerk be and he
hereby is authorized and directed to- cause notice of said hearing to
be published in the Long Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchman pursuant
to the requirements of law.

WHEREAS, Southold Town Planning . B6ard has.: prepared an official report
and recommendation and the Suffolk County Planning, Board has .made
their determination on the following properties :
I. By changing from ."A" Residential and Agricultural District
to "C" Light Industrial District, the following described property,
to wit: Premises at New Suffolk in the Town of Southold being all
that land south of Jackson Street and east of First Street to the
ordinary high water mark of Cutchogue Harbor excepting, however, so
much of said premises as is presently within -the "C" .Light Industrial
District.
II. By changing from "A" Residential and Agricultural District
to "B-1" General Business District the following described property,
to wit:. A.11 that certain plot,. piece . or parcel of land situate,:-
lying and being at Southold, in the Town of Southold bounded and
described as follows : Beginning at the intersection of the westerly
line of the Main Road with the southerly line of Ackerly Pond Lane;
from said point of beginning, running southerly along said westerly
line of Main Road on a curve . to the right having a radius of 1110. 92
feet, a distance of 344.34 feet; thence st(hil along said westerly
line of Main Road Snuthc22 degrees 33 minutes West 18. 0 feet to land
of Willow Hill Cemetery; ' thence along Willow Hill Cemetery, North
52 degrees 29 minutes 50 seconds West 234. 07 feet to the south-
easterly line of Lower Road; thence along said southeasterly line,
North 41 degrees 45" minutes East 144.48 feet to said southerly line
of Ackerly Pond Lane; thence along said southerly line two courses :
(1) North 73 degrees 05- minutes 40 seconds. East 961.45 feet; ('2) North
76 degrees 03 minutes 20 seconds East 170. 10 ,feet to the point of
beginning.
III. By changing from "A" Residential and Agricultural District
to "B-1"- General Busin- ss• District the following described property,
to wit: All that -certain plot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying
and being at Southold, in the Town of Southold, bounded and described
as follows : Beginning at a point on -the easterly line of Wells Avenue
200.-03- feet southerly along said 'easterly line from Main Road; from
said point of beginning running along the existing "B-1" Zone line,
North 73 degrees 17 minutes 20seconds East 148. 14 feet; ' thenc'e South
15 degrees 55 minutes 50 seconds East 464. 10 feet to the northerly
line-of said Wells Avenue; thence along said northerly line South
70 degrees 22 minutes 20 seconds West 149.89 feet to said easterly
line of Wells Avenue; thence along said easterly line North 15 degrees
45 minutes 10 second West 471. 75 feet to the point of beginning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that a public hearing will be held
by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor ' s Office, 16; South
Street, -Greenport; New York, - on- Tuesday , April '25; "1972 at 8:00 P.M.
on the abovementioned" petition, and that the Town Clerk be and he
hereby' is authorized and directed to cause notice of said hearing
to be published in the Long -Island Traveler-Mattituck Watchman
pursuant to the requirement of law.

RESOLVED, that the 'Southold Town `Board release the bond of John
Hurley and others 'in the amount of $26,'500: OO, as ' recommende d by
the Southold Town Planning Board and Superintendent of Highways for
the completion of roads and- ather improvements in the' subdivision
known as Jackson ' s Landing,, Mattituck, New" York.

Police Department building.

3 . The Commission will determine the exact location of the pipe

whatsoever kind or nature arising out of the actions of any and all

they are functioning as such during this project.

the County of Suffolk.
6. This project shall be completed_ not later .than
Suffolk County Mosquito Control Commission & Town of Southold.

to attend Highway ,Superintendents Conference at;,,Shelter Island,,: New
York, June 11, 12 , 13, 1972, and be it further
RESOLVED,, that actual and necessary expenses to.,travel, meals and
lodging incurred while attending ,Said conference be:.a legal charge
against the Town of Southold.

RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board meeting be adjourned at
3 :40 P.M.
