HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-01/04/1972-S 12 SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD MINUTES Meeting of January 4, 1972 SPECIAL MEETING WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD" MEETING WE, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive notice of the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to be held at 16 South Street, Greenport, N.Y. , in the Town of Southold, on Tuesday, January 4, 1972 , and do hereby consent that the same be held on said date for the trans- action of any business which may properly come before said meeting. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, on Tuesday, ilanuary 4, 1972 at 9:30 A.M. , with the following present: Sppervisor Albert M. Martocchia, Councilman James H. Rich, Jr. , Councilman James F. Homan, Justice Martin Suter, Justice Louis M. Demarest, Town Attorney Robert W. Tasker, Superintendent of Highways Raymond C. Dean, and Town Clerk Albert W. Richmond. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73-S-8172 issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of Albert Martocchia, Supervisor, Town of Southold, in the amount of $200, 000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as ,to its form, manner of execution, and . sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73-S-8173 BC issued by the, Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of Albert Martocchia, Supervisor, Town of Southold, in the amount of $15, 000.00 be and the same is hereby .approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of the Town Bard: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73-S-7291 BC issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of Martin Suter, Town Justice, Town of Southold, in the amount of $1, 000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. . Dean, Superintendent of Highways, Town of Southold, in the amount of $2, 000. 00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice. Demarest. Moved by Councilman` Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73�_'-S-8817 BCA issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of Richard Jennsen, Town Constable, Town of Southold, in the amount of $4, 000. 00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73-S-692 BCA issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of A. John Gada, Town Constable, Town of Southold, in the amount of $4, 000. 00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED: That Bond No. 73-S-688 BCA issued by the Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in the name of Raymond Doyen, Secretary, Commissioner, Fishers Island Garbage and Refuse District, Town of Southold, in the amount of $1, 000. 00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of- the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Gordon Ahman, Commissioner of Fishers Island Garbage and Refuse District, Town of Southold, in the amount of $1, 000. 00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes : Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. h.1 2 .Moved .by Justice-- Suter-, seconded by J-ustice Demarest, WHEREAS-- Patrolman Theodore Beebe has passed the Sergeants test and is qualified for Sergeant, NOW:, THEREFORE, BE _IT RESOLVED:- That Theodore Beebe be, and he hereby is appointed Sergeant of the Southold Town-Police Department and that he serve at the pleasure of -the Town Board, unless otherwise provided for by law, and be it- further. RESOLVED: That the compensation be fixed at $12 , 250..00 per year, payable semi-monthly, .and. tha-t..the .apppintment -be. . effective as - of January 1, 1-972.
